Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I picked up The Return of the Living Dead with Clu Gulager that has some extra bonus features. The front has a detachable card if you want to do that, and the inside has one of those coloring books with artwork by Orlando Arocena. He did some drawings of Young Frankenstein, The Hills Have Eves, etc. you can either color them, or just frame if you like. I also picked up a cute motion activated witch that laughs as you walk by. I also picked up picked up a Double Feature anime: Metropolis, and Memories. There were some other horror titles, but they didn't ring a bell with me.

Sadly I didn't find out until yesterday that my store got inventory...

last week.

Most of it was gone, most of the good stuff was gone. Did find some for cases and picked up "Dinocrock" - will watch for a dollar.

Saw a few horror BDs like Child's Play, Killer Klowns From Outer Space and another MGM/Fox disc I can't remember at the moment. Would have loved to come across Carrie.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Carrie is the only one of those that I was able to find, I'm glad I found it though. I just picked up Killer Klowns from Hamilton Books for $5 and Child's Play at Big Lots for $3. I would have been annoyed if I found them at Dollar Tree to be honest.

Yea, i can only guess the workers or others in area know they get media anytime so if chance u see many but get picked over and by chance score any gold anytime. i know by come videos on youtube they call places or have buddies call them to say any new in so if u in area people hit places ahead of everyone cause get calls then it by chance u score any gold if not taken by other collectors or resellers any. i have asked and they say just to call so u know they get any new in by chance and then i try go in days ahead of the actual date cause they stock it once they get box for my place anytime.

It's been months since I've been in a DT, what with the pandemic and my regular DTs being closed (looting damage). But I popped into one out of town and came up with Life Itself (about Roger Ebert) and Allo Allo S7; also Looking for Lennon. Not a lot, but high quality stuff. Hopefully my DTs will reopen soon and I can get back in the swing.

I've only been in 1 store once or twice since Covid. Both with $T & BL, it would probably take seeing things posted here I really want badly before going in. The 2 $T &1 BL trips since Covid were for a combination of other reasons & I was in the store's parking lot anyway. I am paranoid about the pandemic, but I don't want to die for a pile of poorly done films! I used to hit all the sales, I'm sure I'll do so again if/when Covid goes away.

Recent went and saw the table nfront with sign but wrong shit lol so went to tech area and saw the new stock and got a nice half bag full besides rest was old stock and nix new fo any i not real want but can try get later. i just gotta remember just cause others brag on youtube of new stock does not mean ur store get it around same time or workers pick out first then stock rest lol. i happy i can score some gold and then try decide what want of the rest and be selective since got so much already lol. try score combo bray and dvd but if any they already snagged by others at time by chance.

Looked at my DT on Monday. They had Christmas movies and cartoon DVDs in. The biggest surprises were The Honeymooners Christmas Laughter (the Christmas episode & 5 more eps from the "classic 39" episode season), & I Love Lucy Christmas Special ( the first 3 episodes to be colorized: The Christmas Show, Lucy's Italian Movie, Lucy Goes To Scotland).

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I get the feeling from my occasional Dollar Tree visits that DVDs/BDs don't fly off the shelf like they once did at the chain. BDs still go fairly quickly but DVDs seem to hang around forever. I wonder if Dollar Tree literally dumps the DVDs that hang around forever into the garbage after awhile.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I wonder if we asked if they might give any away just to make space for new any. i mean u can try donate any for taxes later lol. as before, still see some same stacked in back from last time and so i can tel what old and what new stock anytime. now i just gotta learn to wait and check so not waste trip going anytime. i feel it an addiction wanting more anytime lol. if anything any i not real like or care to try watch any , can donate for pay or just for space lol. i mean what to thrift stores do with media not sell , do they just leave on shelf or toss later any lol. bad enough stuff is donated but do the places check to make sure it all there or just stock it to sell any cause they most time say if check for cds if used and say yep so know it watchable.

My nearest Dollar Tree got closed due to employees getting covid. Went to one 30 miles away this afternoon (In search of Funhouse Massacre) but came back with Kiss of the Damned and Chromeskull (Which I still haven't seen yet) Almost pulled the trigger on Murder Party and Beyond The Gates.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space (Remake)

I thought there was a version in MGM's Midnight Movies series? While there is no date on the case, it's a totally different cover & looks recent.

New cover (and a coloring book inside) same movie (from 1988) and special features.

Regarding any stock that does not sell, my understanding is that these get shipped off to a different store since different demographics have different interests. I remember seeing books of about 20 copies each that just would not sell in my local DT for about 6-9 months. Then one day I come in and they are all gone.

I went to a different Dollar Tree 4 days ago and was surprised that they had the front table almost filled with Blu-rays and DVDs. Will post the titles in the other thread tomorrow, but I do remember getting the Houston Astros 2017 championship and the New Orleans Saints XLIV champions blu-rays.

I already have a lot of the DVD's that came out around the time, but I'd LOVE to find anything related to my Royals 2015 Championship season at DT. Then again, I'd have to actually go to a store for that to happen ( haven't since The Nightmare Times began ).

I've only ever seen that Astros championship BD. I don't think MLB made one for the 2015 Royals - they started the series in 2016 for the Cubs if I remember correctly.
