Yeah - I figured it was a "you snooze/you lose" situation. I just didn't get a chance to get there earlier. Well...I actually DID last week, but there was drama going on. The store was supposed to be open at 9, & at 10 the manager shows up to a crowd of people waiting outside & announces "I can't get in. My keys were stolen".
It's not the first time they haven't opened on time. And this location also caught fire last year, & was closed to months. Apparently it's haunted. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Was kinda the same mix of movies but was only like 1 box to side by tech stuff. i checkd around area before but noticed they was hiding byhind a display, so they not even ben checkd much cause they used to be in aisle out inopen but now they have tech stuff off to side in like a corner by the office lol. got a steven seagal double feature, and some werewolf kinda movie at time. the rest of stuff was like bleh to me and they was priced 1.99 and not just 99 cents. since ownership change years ago they have some stuff 99 cents or more nw days. which i hope dollar tree never goes the route in future.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I went during the sale and didn't find anything interesting except for this. I've read about this movie for years but never seen it. I'm a little shocked to find something like this at Dollar Tree.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I stopped by my local Dollar Tree this evening on a tip from a friend, who said that he'd seen some discs. Indeed, there were discs at the store, but no Blu-rays--only DVDs.
Here's some of what I saw: Keane Big Bad Wolves Sushi Girl Kurt & Courtney Short Term 12 Conan: The Complete Quest Independence Day: Resurgence Eloise Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates Go Indian Summers: Season 1 Blind Scooby Doo: Moon Monster Madness Paradise (the Diablo Cody movie) Our Brand is Crisis ...and probably a dozen or so more. There was nothing that screamed "Buy me now!" |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I was coming here to post if anyone seen anything new.
Thanks Rbrown498. |

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Two stores near me had them.
Took home: "Wuthering High", Headshot", "Middle Of Nowhere", The Adventurer: The Curse Of The Midas Box", "The Chaos Experiment" and "One Last Time" - which was great since my copy got super scratched up. One buck to replace is great. And I took home more cases which nearly all got used up. And icing on this cake is when I got home, I had a package waiting for me - "Mark Twain" the Ken Burns documentary, won off Ebay. New and the re-release which is no longer a flipper, but a two disc set. Had a good day. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Yea, went to dollar tree recently and checkd around for dvd and some misc. got like handful dvds, but no br i wanted even though they had the new robocop br with dvd i already got just the case is cracked some but cds are watchable. next try check thrift store and see what can score there if any want bad lol. so now days dollar tree has like the cheapest dvd and then go from there to different stores for more if any even if i got plenty not watched or got cause can save having cable later lol. if ever need space can sort what i got and donate any not care keep lol.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Store closest to me got a ton of dvd's & 100-200 blu's. Weak selection. The only item I'd reccomend is the animated Bloom County feature "A Wish For Wings That Work" on dvd (Which I already own.
4 beyond blind buys (for $1.00.........) Blu: The Phenom DVD: Kurt & Courtney Documentary on an off label Sci-fi collection 5 50's-70's b pics on an off label (2 discs) Two Lovers |

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Spotted some new DVDs today, and a scant selection of Blu-rays that had already been picked over by earlier customers. The DVDs were mostly just Asian arthouse films distributed by Well Go USA. Incidentally, the same films appeared on Blu-ray months prior. Other DVDs were limited to animated biblical tales and PBS docu-films. I walked away with only two items from the entire lot.
My Dollar Tree rarely puts this stuff out anymore, and it's almost entirely junk at this point. When they first started these sales, I found entire seasons of popular sitcoms and some half-way decent children's shows on DVD. The Blu-rays however were mostly always B films and various oddities that I never would have imagined justified a Blu-ray release to begin with. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Went to 4 different Dollar Tree stores today, all within a 30+ mile radius of where I live.
Picked Up: Headshot (2016) Kill Command (2016) |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Can only guess stores get different shipments and not always same at all stores. got some this past week and was some good stuff. saw any in teach area in some full reused boxes, cause had the led lights in front so not sure if go again if be alot new stuff. can only guess those who go to the stores early are resellers by chance or any who think be new stuff and get more slection if hit store early when open. just saw the site but not sure if it an old instore ad from start of week. or do they have new ads begin fri or thursday by chance. can maybe try later but not sure if waste time lol.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Finally got around to my local store - the new shipment was mostly gone. Picked up "Inherent Vice" ( which I think I already own, but it was worth a buck for the enclosed digital copy ) & "Freakonomics".

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I hit up store #1 today, I will swing by store #2 tomorrow. I think the cashiers hate me.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
The Prime Gig is a fantastic movie. An unknown gem that came out in the early 2000s. That must have gotten mixed in somewhere by accident at the factory, because it's a very old New Line snapper case release that has been out of print for years.
Dollar Tree gets fewer horror movies than I'd expect. They seem to go heavily after Well GO USA inventory's of Asian cinema, which most of the time have little appeal outside of very niche audiences. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I haven't seen Prime Gig before, so I'll check it out. I like Vince Vaughn. I will buy any asian and horror film i can find there. I'm surprised I found any horror there actually. I picked up a bunch of horror and asian dvds from Big Lots today too.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Seeing the piles in pictures is how i am kinda since they only a buck lol besides any tax crap lol. i fill a basket of any possible get then recheck for extra and who in it to decide how bad i want it at time. have got stuff cause who in it and not alot extras, but once u see behind scenes of certain movies u have general idea how the movie might have been made. so some movies i let get got even if not a lot extras. but knowing who in it and any extra i care to check out is just a bonus to me in ways. have not grabbed any recent dvd or dvd really at all since try declutter lol. and know i got so many i not even seen yet lol. at some point later get more just not sure when but hope it around the next time they get a new shipment any lol. i try check place early to hope score any before the area or setup is trashed kinda cause traffic already snag any try resell by chance later. so once i know i try check after job if any and score what can at time.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
As reported by Phantom Stranger over in the Blu-ray Bargains forum, people have been spotting new discs at Dollar Tree.
I checked my local DT out after seeing his post, and several boxes had just been put out (according to the cashier). I picked up eight Blu-rays, and the following DVDs: Wilfred: The Complete First Season Final Girl 4 Films--Soviet Spies: The Russian Specialist / Little Nikita / Man on a String / A Dandy in Aspic Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!: Season 1, Part 1 Mayhem Mike Tyson Mysteries: Season One Uncensored Monster Movie Mix The Sacrament Batkid Begins Just Shoot Me!: Seasons 1 & 2 4 Comedy Greats: Blind Date / Slackers / Stir Crazy / Nothing in Common There were also some made-for-video Tom and Jerry movies, a lot more Scooby-Doo discs, and several double-feature discs. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Thanks for the info. Nothing in the Auburn,Ca store yet.
Kind of sad/funny,so few B@M have physical media left, that we look forward to DT movies. But they always seem to have a few good ones. |
