Yeah, I'm thinking about turning them off actually. The packrat in me hates having to delete them all the time. Think I'll stick with email only, which has always been open through my profile here.

Working on my weekly posts as we 'speak'.

Hey Trevor.. just checking, you know you can download any or all of them as a XML, CSV, or Text file and save them to your PC right?

Yeah, I do that, but hate it. A combination of my simpleness and pack rat-itis just wants everything in one place. What's the point of PMs anyway, when we have email? Why have two places where exchanges take place, when they can all be in one place? I don't even come remotely close to keeping up with my main email account, having an extra inbox to check just bothers me. Greatly.

Rant from crazy person over, here comes the weekly post....

But first, I did change my mind and check all the stores last week for you silly people. Left my bags at home, but iirc there was only a few very minor things, will post them soon.

Re: Weekly DVD/BD Exclusive Listings, 05/02/10 and beyond

This post will list all DVD exclusives and freebies found for the release week of 5/23/10 to 5/29/10.

New release price comparisons in their own weekly threads.

Thread "instructions" spoilered.
Spoiler:
This thread is for the posting and discussion of all DVD exclusives and freebies.

These lists will likely be incomplete until Wednesday or so, since DVDs are released on Tuesday and one of us needs to visit all the stores to confirm things.

Links to the master list and to the trade thread are below.

Volunteers needed: I regularly go to Best Buy and Target; but don't visit the other stores every week. If you work at or regularly go to the Wal-Mart, FYE/TWEC chains, Costco, Borders, K-mart/Sears, Barnes and Noble, Blockbuster, Toys-R-Us, or any other store that has DVD exclusives; we'd appreciate any updates you could give us. I am slowly "retiring" from my weekly chain crawls, and will need your help to keep these threads useful.

All Stores - Thread for all movie cash and free ticket deals

Best Buy -
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog Blu-ray - book
True Blood Season 2 - pre-order poster still available in most stores I imagine

Target -
True Blood Season 2 (DVD/Blu-ray) - 45-min. cast Q&A (DVD in both versions?)
Dear John - BD is a combo with DVD

Wal Mart / Sam's Club -
I searched and found nothing new

K-Mart/Sears - Not verified Tuesday or later. Anyone check?

FYE/Sam Goody/other TWEC - Not verified Tuesday or later. Anyone check?

Giant Food / Giant Eagle -
this will likely end up at all chains, but so far I only see it here: several family movie double packs, like Space Chimps type movies, with e-moviecash of $7.50 for Marmaduke

Barnes and Noble -
I searched and found nothing new

Borders -
I searched and found nothing new

Costco -
I searched and found nothing new

Toys-R-Us -
I searched and found nothing new

Blockbuster -
I searched and found nothing new

"Lesser" stores with no exclusives this week spoilered
Spoiler:
GameStop / MovieStop - Not verified Tuesday or later. Anyone check?

Hot Topic - Not verified Tuesday or later. Anyone check?

The Disney Store - Not verified Tuesday or later. Anyone check?

Meijers - Not verified Tuesday or later. Anyone check?

Ralph's - Not verified Tuesday or later. Anyone check?

Hastings - Not verified Tuesday or later. Anyone check?

Acme / Albertson's - Not verified Tuesday or later. Anyone check?

Fred Meyer - Not verified Tuesday or later. Anyone check?

Canadian Exclusives - Not verified Tuesday or later. Anyone check?

This is week #231 of listing these exclusives.

Ah ok..didn't even notice you had email LOL d'oh! I see your point, very wise thinking. I guess I just never gave it all much thought and now that I do, it is silly that I end up checking a dozen places for messages every day when they would make much more sense all in one place. My problem has been if I only had one email, it would be hard for me to sort out what's what...i.e. work, friends, junk and I am always afraid I will miss something.

Anyway, off to shoot you an email

As for True Blood 2 Q&A bonus, it is indeed an extra disc, but don't know if it is a DVD or Blu-ray disc. I would guess DVD.

Thanks Annie, and I'd guess you're right, a retailer bonus BD is pretty unique, so I bet it's the same DVD in the BD and DVD exclusive bundles.

Best Buy had their Doctor Horrible Blus out early. I didn't buy one, but all copies had a mini comic book shrink-wrapped onto the package. It says it was from Dark Horse Comics, so it's likely that it's a reprint of the Doctor Horrible one-shot comic they released about a year ago or a compilation of the the online strips from their Myspace site.

Finally updated last week's post, did my usual 9/10 chain crawl. I think I'm forgetting something minor, but the only thing I found of any significance, and this is old I think, is a bonus DVD at Walmart with the purchase of By the People: The Election of Barack Obama.

Here's the screen snap...

It's a two disc case, so the bonus disc isn't housed in an envelope. And just as important; the case is normal - not one of those crappy eco-cases. Good for them.

Now. I have fingers crossed that we'll (DVD owners) will get the same treatment when "Hot Tub Time Machine" comes out at the end of next month.

Can anybody confirm if the stuff from the Best Buy Exclusive DVD is already on the BD?

Edit: Nevermind, already compared it with DVDTalk's Review. The BB stuff is on the BD.

Hey! Glad you got yours...one of them was for you in case Were you able to find a pristine slipcase? I found most of them had some marking or bent a bit or something. So delicate! I do like you get the original slipcase as well.

I think it was a great marketing ploy to put different cards displayed in the front and of course if you don't plan to open it, then I guess you would need all 6 LOL

The display case and the sticker stated that all cards are included, which quickly alleviated any worries or fears on my part anyway. For a moment it was a mad dash

Aww, well thanks for looking out. Mucho appreciated. But they had more then enough upon opening. Did you get a poster? They didn't offer me one or know anything about it.

Oh and since I did open mine. You'd be glad to know that the regular slipcase is included. The cards are shrinkwrapped w/the original slip cover inside the exclusive Best buy slipcase. That's why every copy for the most part had a slight crease on the side. I got the best copy I possibly could.

Oh and for anyone that hasn't picked up the Sukiyaki Western Django steelbooks. They are just 4.99 at best buy. I only seen 2 different covers, Gunslinger and not sure what the other name was, but it wasn't the one with the girl on the cover, and no mention of the bonus disc are still included.

No poster either. Did you watch it? How's the sharpness of the PQ compared to at the theater?

I've been debating on whether to open it or not. And yes I saw the extra slipcase and was very thrilled. Glad you got a copy!

As far as Sukiyaki Western Django, it is the Gunslinger (guy), Bloody Benton (girl) and Pay Off (the gang). Only the ones that had a sticker stating bonus disc had them and those with bonus disc were BB exclusive. Still a good deal for anyone who hasn't picked them up.

Re: Weekly DVD/BD Exclusive Listings, 05/02/10 and beyond

As far as I can tell, this is the same DVD that came out in 2008.

TRC's Q.

I have run into that oddity some months back. That title has disappeared from physical retail stores. The last time I saw it was at Circuit City. Maybe this exclusive thing is more about Best Buy having it for sale at their stores. The slipcase does not list any specific extra(s), just that it's an exclusive.

To be honest I prefer the original slipcase which was red foil.
