Damn. The temptation was too much to resist - picked up Icons of Sci-Fi: Toho Collection and The Sam Fuller Collection. And probably will pick up the the BD Harryhausen set, although I was hoping Amazon would match the price since I have a $40 GC to burn.

Thanks OP-Finally pulled the trigger on Bewitched season sets. They were $22.95 at Amazon and I have been waiting for a price drop but it never happened. Glad to pay $16.00 and change per season now.:)

Added All in the Family 1rst six seasons for that price with the hope that the final 3 seasons will be released soon!

Just Checked Amazon and they raised the prices on Bewitched to $32.95!!!

I got my order placed on April 5th in the mail today (My Boys S1) and a lot quicker than expected.

I also ordered V.I.P: The Complete First Season just now. It is backordered though. Does anyone know how long (on average) it takes DD to restock?

I got The Shield the entire series in today and almost every disc is scratched to shit right out of the packaging. I'm hoping to contact the Fox department directly to get replacement discs rather than dealing with ddd again and just receivng the same problem all over again. Has anyone else gone this route to replace damaged discs due to shitty packaging?

I ordered a couple of sets on Tuesday that were on backorder but then I received an e-mail on Friday stating that they were shipping. I had one backorder in the past take two weeks to ship. I guess it varies.

I read the bad packaging reviews on this set at Amazon.com and that's what stopped from getting it. Too bad since it's a great price.

I saw that Sony has a set replacement program so I will be calling them on Monday. It seems that they will either replace all of the discs with good ones (which will go into a dvd case) or they will straight out replace the set with something in place to protect the dvds (which I prefer). I'll post what happens after I call them.

The problem is I've been screwed out of transactions by both Ebat*es and Bing. The only ones that haven't done that to me are cashbaq and fatwallet.

I was wondering why recent orders I did through bing with deepdiscount didn't work. That might explain it.

I heard "The Giant Claw" in the Sam Katzman set is cropped in a fake widescreen. I'm guessing the other movies aren't. I was debating about getting some of these Icons sets.

What a shame with the Shield Complete series problem...I really wanted to purchase this set as I missed out on a few seasons after I dropped cable. :(

I can vouch for two.

"Icons of Sci-Fi: Toho Collection" is excellent (review on DVDtalk by Glenn Erickson). If you're a fan of the early Godzilla films it's a no-brainer, especially at this price. I picked it up a while back just for the remastered "Mothra" and was pleasantly surprised by the other 2 films. The only drawback is the packaging. 3 disks on a single spindle.

"Icons of Horror: Hammer Films" is lots of fun and a good value. I picked this one up primarily for "The Gorgon" and "The Curse Of The Mummy's Tomb" and was not disappointed. It's also has a Glen Erickson review here on DVDTalk.

I'm leaning towards the Katzman package which has a good review here as well (Glenn Erickson again). He doesn't indicate any issues with "fake WS" and says (in part): "All of the shows except Creature with the Atom Brain are presented in beautiful enhanced 1:85 transfers. Why Atom Brain should be excepted makes no sense at all, since it's clearly meant to be matted as well."

There's also a review for the "Icons of Adventure" set. This one is by Stuart Galbraith IV.

Ordered the shield and now I'm really worried but they are on backorder. DDD sent me a coupon for $5 off my next purchase I'm tempted by the seinfeld complete series for 94.99 after coupon is this a good buy.

It's been that price before but that's about the lowest its been. It will probably go lower if your in no hurry to buy. The more important question is why did you get the coupon. Is it a generic or unique one time use one?
