I picked up 'Class of 1984' at Big Lots for $3 earlier this year. Granted, it's the only Anchor Bay title I've ever spotted there.

I ordered 'Black Moon Rising' at Deep Discount for $3.05 during a B1G1 sale last year, so you might be able to find it cheap online. Silent Night, Deadly Night is long out-of-print - I'm waiting for a reissue myself.

Just because you dislike the film doesn't make it one of the worst films ever made. I own this movie and both my wife and I find it very entertaining, with definite re-watch value (we've watched it twice since I purchased it a little over a year ago). Granted, this is a film you either love or hate, but hating it doesn't negate its entertainment value for others.

Just my .02 cents worth, -kd5-

What he meant was, it's considered to be one of the worst movies ever made.

I think I'd add "widely", widely considered to be one of the worst movies ever made.

Police Academy (with 20th Anniversary Special Edition) (1984)

and also saw:

Brokeback Mountain
The Longest Yard (1974 version)/North Dallas Forty (Nick Nolte)/Necessary Roughness
The Gumball Rally/Cannonball Run II (double feature)
My Blue Heaven/The Man with Two Brain (double feature)
Grumpy Old Men/Grumpier Old Men (double feature)
Tarzan the Ape Man/"10" (both Bo Derek movie & double feature)
but there lot of warner bros. double feature title!
How much was the Tarzan/10 double feature? It was $3 some time ago, but I have noticed some double features that were $3 being priced at $6.

I would suggest that when posting that the prices be indicated. With the new $5 and $6 price points, it would be very helpful to know if it's worth a trip or not.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Did some traveling this weekend and bought another great haul from BL using my 20% discount. I just can't get enough of this place and it's coming to the point where my whole collection is from Big Lots.

Here is my latest..

Memoirs Of An Invisible Man
Joe Versus The Volcano
Contact
Little Giants/Little Shop Of Horrors (2 dvd pack)
A Fine Madness
Spies Like Us
Round Midnight
The Invasion
The Wendell Baker Story
The Brothers McMullen
Where Eagles Dare
Chain Of Fools
The Neverending Story
The Neverending Story II

As i left the store with the bag of dvds a lady coming in the store says to me "Hope you have a good party"!

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Today in Lynn, MA, I picked up Waiting For Guffman/Best in Show/A Mighty Wind and Psycho II/Psycho III/Psycho IV for $6 each, plus An Inconvenient Truth for $3. They also had a couple of the ESPN three packs with Tilt and Playmakers for $3, if anyone is looking for them. I picked up one for my brother back in June. They also had the first two Danger Mouse DVD sets, some were marked $8 others were $10 for some reason. Has anyone seen the TMNT collection in Massachusetts? I'd really like to get that.

I would've bought Battlefield Earth if it wasn't "Edited for home video".

I second that. I have never seen it, but I really want to.

Some of my recent finds at 2 different Big Lots are:

$3:

Nancy Drew (2007)
Supergirl
Dr. Giggles
Ice Harvest
Rumble in the bronx
Cobra (single disc full and widescreen)
Under Siege 2

$5:
Starship Troopers

$6:

Mortal Kombat 1 & 2
Cobra / Tango & Cash (Full screen versions, I plan to get rid of since I have both in widescreen now, I got this before the other 1)
Contact / Sphere
Little Giants / Little Shop of Horrors

Desperately Looking for the following:

Masters of The Universe
Who's that girl

Unrelated: I did find Mac and Me at a K-Mart for $5. Great little bad film. I love bad films of that nature.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Picked up the only Sidney Poitier collection they had for $6. Haven't seen any of the movies, but the collection got a Highly Recommended here, so it seems like a sound purchase especially at that price. They had just put out a whole bunch more stuff, but nothing too noteworthy that immediately comes to mind.

There's a new small Warner/Paramount $3 batch. Restock on Phantom Of The Opera 2 disc (Webber), Under The Cherry Moon, Black Dahlia, more similar.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

The $6 and $5 ones are definitely not moving as fast at the BigLots near me. It's funny because I am a lot more selective too. I just think of the 150 or so I have already bought there. For $2 or $3, it was a no-brainer. For $5 or $6, I have to think about it. Kinda silly for stuff that sells for $17 elsewhere, I know.

not really. There are just too many deals around to pay $5 for a movie unless you really want it or it's OOP. I would be hard pressed to pay $5 for a blind buy unless it was blu-ray. I have bought a couple of $5 titles there in the last couple of months. I'd say 80% of my BL buying is from recommendations or blind buys. That is slowly stopping as I've probably bought 3-400 titles there in the last two and half years.

I agree, and I am kicking myself for buying Ghost Rider as a blind buy from Oldies.com for $6 and the blu ray is only $10

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Not a find but a heads up for any Lexington, KY residents or those that may visit the Eastland location here (cardsfan111) on their travels ...

That location is closing. A new "upscale" Big Lots will be opening in Hamburg on October 8th. Dunno what that means but I'm crossing my fingers for BDs...
