Last week at Big Lots, I saw the 2002 animated MOTU series. It was the one from Mill Creek that contained 10 episodes. Unfortunately, I have yet to see the 1987 live-action DVD at any of the stores in my area.

It seems that people on the East Coast are having better luck finding this film (according to the posts posted on this message board). Has anyone on the West Coast (especially in the Los Angeles/Inland Empire area) come across this title? Same thing with Twilight Zone: The Movie. I haven't found that one either.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

The Clementon, NJ store had an update of AMC/TV Guide/Genius box sets and some other films (at $5, which is too much at this point for DVDs of big-budget Hollywood stuff):

Spartacus
Jaws (CE FS)
Taxi Driver (2 disc)
Blood Diamond (2 disc)
Troy (2 disc FS)
King Kong (2005 2 disc)
Terminator 3 (2 disc)

Picked up the only copy of the Godard Essentials set. Also picked up The Mel Gibson Guide to the Good Life, which is probably funnier now than it was in 2006.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Not true about the live action Masters of the Universe being found easily.

I've been on the hunt for it for 3 weeks in Columbus, OH. Have yet to find it. Also have yet to find Who's That Girl. I really really really want those two very very very badly. They are two movies I loved fondly from my 6 to 8 year old youth in the 80's.

With that said my recent buys/finds are:

Lawnmower Man 1 & 2 (the box said widescreen and features with each but was a lie as they are both full frame, Mortal Kombat duo is like this too.)
Free Willy (10th anniversary edition)
Arthur/Arthur 2 double feature
Ghost Ship/Dreamcatcher
A Walk To Remember/Pay It Forward
Mortal Kombat Annihilation (widescreen/fullscreen)
Set It Off Director's cut
Troy (1 disc widescreen)
Purple Rain (1 disc full screen)

Also saw, but didn't get:
M. Butterfly (Cronenburg) - didn't interest me
Magnolia (see those at all I visit, but I got it already)
Punchline
Wild America
Dennis The Mennace (1 disc) also seen the double feature too
Batman (most of the Tim Burton/Schumacher ones, but 1 disc versions only)
Dreamcatcher (1 disc)
Pay It Forward (1 disc)
The Right Stuff (1 disc)
and so many more that would take too long to name if I remember em all.

I wonder if Arthur 2 is FS or WS now. I know the original Arthur is FS only. Probably wait for a Blu-ray release on these. Funny Farm and Spies like Us used to be FS only, now the BR has them WS.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Hmmm, a few new to add to my hunt list now.

Labamba
Tremors
Jaberwocky

I can't wait to find "Who's That Girl?" though, have me a good 80's Warner Bros. music movie marathon with that, Disorderlies, and Purple Rain.

Yes, Arthur 2 is widescreen. Which was a selling point. Arthur was the selling point, as I wanna see the full original before the remake. I've only seen bits and pieces before.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

San Bernardino, CA

The store got a new load. Old and new stuff.

Bought...

Soylent Green (finally found it! - not cut)
Fail_Safe
The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad

- - -

Saw...

THX 1138: The Director's Cut
Rebel Without A Cause: Two-Disc Special Edition
Men In Black: Deluxe Edition (with slipcase)
Masters Of The Universe
Dead Silence
Dreamcatcher: Widescreen
Selena: 10th Anniversary Two-Disc Special Edition
The Batman: Season 1, Vol. 2

And others. Still no "Wyatt Earp".

- - -

I know that at one point a remake of "Adventures In Babysitting" was happening with Raven-Symone as the lead. I hate that idea, but kinda welcome it. As a cross promotion they would probably re-release the original film as a special edition; the DVD is bare bones. And maybe include the unsold 1989 TV pilot, starring Jennifer Guthrie, Joey Lawrence, Courtney Peldon and Brian Austin Green.

The moron in question is Russell Brand.

That set of Batman was in BL last summer for $6. Some reported V3 and V4 as well. The only one that appeared here was V2.

Wal-Mart online has had V3 & V4 sporadically available for $9/ea. + tax & shipping (unless you use site-2-store) the past few weeks. After a week of watching/refreshing I was able to score a V4. Still trying on V3.

Like someone mentioned, yeah the remake of Arthur has Russell Brand, Helen Mirren, Jennifer Garner, and Louis Guzman.

Here's the imdb.com link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1334512/

Pics i've seen of it make it seem like a referential comedy, with Russell in the Batman nipple suit, owning a Delorean, etc. Not very promising really. Maybe it'll flop harder than Get Him To The Greek.

Yeah, last year I managed to snag Batman TAS volumes 1,2 and 3 for $3 each at Big Lots. I also got in on the v4 wal-mart deal as well. I was kind of hoping it would end up being the season sets of "The Batman" rather than the individual volumes with only a few episodes.

In addition to the first two volumes of The Batman, I saw Batman: the Mystery of the Batwoman and I think another Batman animated movie.
