lol, I guess I'm the only one who got this deal, I've yet to receive any email, still says processing on my order page, and I've yet to get any credit back with paypal. It's the same way with my friend who I told about it.

don't hold your breath. mine says processing as well, but look to the right under Status/Tracking and it says cancelled. sorry.

What's funny is that while a good deal, it wasn't an outrageous price mistake, either. The first two seasons were $12.99 Black Friday week.

Mine also says expected to ship March 23 - same screen as vmars above. It seems possible that it might be a matter of how quickly you got in on the deal. They may have just drawn an arbitrary line in the sand and cancelled some orders. Time will tell.

Edit: Just noticed that RequiemX's order was cancelled and he did his order about the same time (or even sooner) than I did and also did it through Paypal. So, just don't know.

Yup, after logging into my order I see mine was canceled to with no notification to me. I chatted with an agent and they said they will issue my credit today and don't know why my order was canceled or who did it. So, I guess they were going to keep holding my money until I caught them on this?

This is really a horrible company. A couple of years ago, I had fake orders from this company placed to my account by an angry employee that I had to have reversed by my credit card (they did the investigation for me). Now this archaic pre-charge on orders and lack of notification for cancellation. Last business with this company for me.

I just checked mine and it still says Presale, expected to ship Mar 23, 2010. No cancellation email or credit back to my account yet. I'm sure it's only a matter of time just odd that they pick and choose who they are canceling.

I wasn't notified by Overstock about the canceled order. I paid with Paypal and received a notification from them that my account was being credited. I then checked my order at Overstock and saw that was cancelled.

I received the following e-mail today:

Same here, still no cancellation or refund. You'd think if they were going o cancel all the orders for it they would have done so already. I'm just guessing a select few got the deal and it was considered an acceptable loss by them

I'm not sure what to do now. My order still hasn't been canceled or refunded but now I'm unsure if it will even arrive since everyone else order seems canceled. I don't know if it will be better to just wait and see or cancel it now and get a refund.

Your not the only one who's order hasn't been cancelled, my friend and mines is still processing. No sign of cancellation at all. I think we're free and clear and will get it for the cheap price

It lists at 50 bucks right. If you get it 40% off thats 30 bucks with shipping included. The mad men sets sell for around 20 bucks used @ least MM 2 does. Buy the set, Dadeedaw it and sell it. Probably lose 10 bucks overall o well. Otherwise wait til black friday and by that time the set will or will not go down. Your call. I'm thinking spend the 30 bucks now.

I don't what you all are quibbling about. I think the odds are that more likely than not, Mad Men Season 3 will be $15 or less at some point around the Black Friday shopping season.

You want it 8 months earlier before Black Friday? Amazon's pre-order is only $28.99 right now for release at the end of March. I'm sure a couple months after release it'll dip to $25 for a bit. That would probably be some time in May or June. Possibly over the summer, there will be a sale somewhere that knocks it down to $20, but thats likely as low as its going to go until Black Friday.

There has been a trend the past few years for certain popular series to be priced cheaply at some point during Black Friday, including Entourage, Weeds, Mad Men, and The Office among others. If you want it cheap, the odds are good you can wait until Black Friday. You want it now? Pay more. If you don't want to keep it, try to re-sell it and take your losses. There really isn't much to argue about.
