If SFU seasons weren't on my wishlist this year, then I would be snapping this up so fast. An excellent show.

If this is still active 12/25 and I didn't get any seasons, then I'm totally in.

Why would they "finally make them 16:9" when 4:3 is the correct OAR of the first two seasons?

I've never heard confirmation that the first two seasons were shot 1:33:1. Fair enough if that is indeed true. I'll still wait for the complete series on Blu-ray because the difference in image quality between the dvds and HD broadcasts (which aren't even 1080p) is night and day.

Re: Six Feet Under: The Complete Series DVD $69.99 at Target

Picked up the last thin pack copy at a local Target tonight. It does NOT have the CD soundtracks in the box (same one that is sold everywhere else). The Target website has both the large size and the slim pack as being available at the same store that I went to tonight, but I could not find the large size box anywhere. I wasn't too upset about not getting the music cd's...probably would not listen to them too much anyway (except for "Breath Me", of course).

I have the original season sets, but this saves so much space! I will just sell off the other seasons.

Obviously I scanned by your post -- if I had you on ignore I would never see your response in any case. You may have your spotlight back now...

You might as well pick it up and if you get it as a gift then return it. I wouldn't hesitate on this series unless you think you can live without it.

Maybe not ignore, but definitely unnecessarily petty...

I solved that problem by buying 3,(to date), Sony 400 disc players. I have all my tv dvd's in them and thus only have to remove them once from their sleeves and place into the players. I'm aware not every one can/will do this but it has worked marvelously for me and it makes viewing much easier when I want to watch a certain show series.

Both the new and the old packaging present seasons 1 and 2 as 4:3 with the remainder in 16:9.....bummer as they could have slimed the first two seasons for the new packaging as a lay off against not getting the soundtracks.....maybe hold off for blu-ray. The new blu-ray Rome Complete Series rocks! And they just did The Sopranos, so where it SFU, the best series ever? Is there no justice? Oh, humanity!

Again, I ask, how is this a "bummer" when the show did not begin filming in 16:9 until season 3?? 4:3 is the correct aspect ratio for seasons 1 and 2, and if this show is ever released onto Blu-ray Disc, then the first two seasons should still be presented in their proper 4:3 OAR....

Also, what the heck is "slimed"? I thought that was what a ghost could do to you, at least according to Dr. Peter Venkman....

I think he meant "slimmed", as in using the slim DVD holders in the set. Although, now that I think about it, does he mean they could use the slimmer cases BECAUSE the show is in 4:3 and not 16:9??? I know it is a slimmer picture, but....
