Re: DD - After Thanksgving Sale
Sort of... I think that we've just gotten used to all the $3 BL titles, $5 WM cabinet, regular deep reductions at various B&M ($15/$20 Target TV season 2 packs), coupons, etc. that we're not looking at the simple fact that DD still tends to offer the best overall prices. I still look for and count on their sales for lots of items, but other venues have become more competitive. Just the fact that DD offers free shipping on *any* size order compells me to use them more than any other vendor, on-line or B&M, for the simple fact that I'd spend more elsewhere just to get to that free shipping threashold, frequently picking up titles lower down my aquisition list just because they meet the price I need.
Dang... I sound like a DD shill! That's not the case! But I still feel they tend to offer the best "general" prices around, even though I shop around more than ever these days.

Re: DD - After Thanksgving Sale
DD is a business and they've obviously decided that the promotions they offered in '08 and earlier--which unloosened my wallet with some regularity--are somehow no longer helping them. Their prerogative, of course. Like a lot of people here, I'm disappointed. But I'm sure I'll continue to find the occasional deal at DD--just not as many as before. I'm certainly going to continue checking out their new sales as they come along. Who knows when they'll throw out some diamond in the rough?
