These will play on my Computer DVD drive fine, because they are Region Free? If that's true, I suppose that may change my mind on a purchase.

Ordered April 1st, arrived April 9th to the SF Bay Area. I noted a lot of talk about the fact that these disks are PAL versus NTSC. I don't have a Play Station or X-Box but have never had a problem with Region 2 DVDs in the PAL format playing on my cracked Philips DVD player and NTSC Sony Television. These play just fine. They are indeed Region 0 and not Region 2 and therefore I can confirm they do play on your computer just fine. I just popped one in and checked it out with Windows Media Player with no problems.

I did spend the day watching several films and they are great. The extra features are super, with some great documentaries covering all of Russ Meyer's career, super interviews with Russ Meyer and many featuring 2005 interviews with the stars of the film talking candidly about the production and impact the films had on their careers. This is really a first class set, and a no brainer to pick up based on price and Region 0.

So to recap, this will play fine on your cracked DVD player as well as your computer since it is Region 0.

Moved some of my players around, and the player in my living room is starting to fail. It's an old piece of crap Apex locked to region 1.

So the day this set arrived I picked up a Phillips 5990 at Costco, opening myself up to other regions (I know this set is region free, but it's nice to now own a non-PC region free and PAL compatible player).

Yeah, this 'good deal' is going to cost me hundreds of dollars a year minimum.

I had a region-free before that broke, and use one of my PCs to play my few other region discs now. But yeah, I'm really looking forward to seeing them on a real TV for a change.

Mine arrived yesterday, it shipped on 4/2/2010. The shipping carton was pretty banged up, accordian folds on opposite corners. When I opened it, the set inside appeared undamaged but had the sound of floaters inside. I figured one or two, and opened it up to look. The set had 6 out of 12 disks loose, and 3 of the cases had broken hubs. Incredibly, none of the disks had the slightest scratch or scuff, so the box-beatdown must have happened on the local end of the journey. I replaced the 3 cases and am perfectly happy. Condition of package is not Amazon UK's fault, I will be getting a region-free player and using them again.

Played Vixen today on my Phillips HTS3400 which is a few years old and already starting to crap out on a lot of disks. No issues, no choppiness or ghosting. Picture looks fine.

My set took about two weeks to arrive. It was dispatached I believe from Germany, so that may account for extra transit time (stuff coming directly from the UK usually takes a week). Mine arrived in perfect condition and no floaters. On the same order I grabbed the Optimum Special Edition release of Kurosawa's Rashomon (under $10 with shipping). --Peter

The label says "Luftpost" with a circled DE next to it so I guess it's Germany. I don't know if my box was delivered by UPS, USPS or the easter bunny though since there was no online tracking information given to me. I wouldn't worry, it sounds like the shipments are all taking longer than expected and my floaters sound like an isolated incident. The hubs on the keep cases are pretty strong so it's odd I had so many (and odder none of the disks were even slightly damaged).
