Thanks for the additional coupons. I ordered Scrubs Season 8 BLU-RAY released this week ($27 after coupon). They have it listed as Season Two BLU-RAY for some reason, but Season 8 is the only one released on BLU so it must be a description error.

BIG thanks for the notice on DVD Planet - the prices do show up wrong in search but correct in your cart. I had been holding some credit there for awhile because they never managed to match DDD prices the last couple of sales.

Thanks to everyone who posted the coupon codes. Wouldn't have made a purchase without one. Here's my miniscule order...

Audition: Collector's Edition..... 14.97
High Noon: Collector's Edition.. 11.97

Total after coupon and Bing cashback is about $21.

In for the Funny Guy blu-ray collection. $26.89 for Office Space, Napoleon Dynamite and Young Frankenstein, beats Amazon by $5.10 - basically the coupon. I also was ignoring this sale until I heard about the coupon. Thanks!

For a short time until yesterday at about 6 p.m., the Prisoner blu was $39.97 - $34.97 after a $5.00 off coupon. A good deal compared to the $59.97 price it is at now.

It was a blind buy for me, but eagerly looking forward to watching it.

It's $34.70 for the DVD, not the Blu-Ray. A search for prisoner complete in DVDs will show it on the first page.

Unfortunately for those wanting the tangible extras from the 40th Anniversary Megaset:

I'm hoping more $5 off DD coupons appear... I've used all 3 already. :(
Too bad I missed the 1st one before it expired...

I just bought ST TNG BD Movies for $36.97 (doesn't include Bing--I don't like to deduct it until I receive it)

Shit. DD restocked Homicide and shipped my copy already. So how long are they taking for stuff that's in stock? I'm hoping if I put in another order just before the sale ends, it won't ship til at least the 1st. I've already burned my budget for the month, and there'll be a lot of BD ordering on black friday.

Does anyone know the expiration dates for the various DeepDiscount $5. off $25. coupons?

Re: DeepDiscount 40% Off MSRP Sale 11/13/09-11/29/09

Of these codes, only the last one worked for me just now (and I had only used the first code before):

N4V24RVDNH - $5 off $25 or more
FLNHEICBBA - $5 off $25 or more
L78Z5TW1YY - $5 off $25 or more
LTPVNY3FX8 - $5 off $25 or more

**edit**

I ordered Wallace and Gromit BR + a Shaun the Sheep DVD to qualify for the $5 off $25, by the way. Good deal, since it makes W&G $13 and Shaun at $9 was several dollars cheaper than Amazon already.

Re: DeepDiscount 40% Off MSRP Sale 11/13/09-11/29/09

Fortunately I was able to use all four coupon codes yesterday. I used the N4V24RVDNH early in the morning. Then I saw the other three codes on this thread and used them in the late afternoon, one right after another.

All four orders shipped today, except for one Warner Archive title.

DD prorated each $5 coupon across the prices of each DVD, e.g., on one of my orders I ordered three DVDs at $8.97 each, so they subtracted $1.67 off each of them. That's important because it turns out that one of those DVDs is no longer in print - so I effectively lost a third of the coupon's value because it was removed from my order. The other two shipped at the $7.33 price.

I also used a $5 coupon (couponcabin -- $5 off $50) over at DVD Planet and one of the DVDs - priced at just under $21 - is also no longer in print, so it will be interesting to see if they also pro-rate the coupon or if I get the coupon's full $5 value. That order hasn't shipped yet.

I almost feel embarrassed for DDD. I just received this flyer from them:

<a href="http://s880.photobucket.com/albums/ac9/txdave36/?action=view&current=ddd.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac9/txdave36/ddd.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Cmon, they expect the buyer to get excited by saving $2-3 dollars over Amazon's price? I can find the V set cheaper at Walmart, and they aren't running a big sale.

Yes? People will spend hours clipping coupons to save $.30 on something. If you're saving $2 per DVD and buying 5, 10, or 20 DVDs that adds up pretty quickly.

Plus Amazon charge's tax for some and there's no cashback using Amazon.

$2 dollar saving doesn equate to the big 40% off in most people's minds though. This ads feels like they are desperate now to get orders.

So what are you saying, that they should have referenced B&N or Borders that sell at MSRP so that it would have showed a bigger discount? Reality is that Amazon is very competitive these days. Even in the last two DD 25% off sales some times Amazon came out on top. Now you throw Walmart into the mix with their pricing. I don't think anyone can do a sale anymore that blows out the competition like it was when DD started these many years ago. I think they're all desperate for orders right now.

I thought for sure that first order for 4 titles would be it for me this year, but then those damn coupons showed up and that deal on The Prisoner was too good to let pass by.

So here is the total haul- spread across multiple orders, along with total cost

The Claudette Colbert Collection
The Fugitive Season 3 Vol. 1
Mary Tyler Moore Show Season 5
The Prisoner Complete Series (Blu-ray)
The Duchess (Blu-ray)
Sideways (Blu-ray)
Master And Commander (Blu-ray)
Sex, Lies, And Videotape (Blu-ray)
Galaxy Quest (Blu-ray)
The General (Blu-ray)
Who Is Killing The Great Chefs Of Europe

total: $200.21

msrp on all this is $417, which would makes the discount here 52%. If you factor in the sales tax differential, it comes out to close to 60% less.
This is easily as good as any other fall (or summer) DD sale for me.

Planning on one more order next week, when the new titles are released and that will do it. More than I expected to spend this year, but much, much less than I usually do.

Well, my free gift was a big heavy box that includes a kit to make 10 embossed soap bars. I know someone who loves crafts and I figure would love this. :)

I miss the %off all DVDs sale, but there are some good deals to be had especially with the $5 off coupons.

I ended up picking up a couple of CDs -- I had ordered the Wall of Voodoo CD below from Amazon last night where it was 20.79 with tax, by switching the order to DD I'm paying less and getting the Queen CD for nothing.
1 GHT610632 QUEEN: THE GAME $ 7.85 Backorder
1 RAV703092 WALL OF VOODOO: DARK CONTINENT/CA $ 12.33 In-stock
Merchandise Total: $ 20.18

Nice. Earlier today I ordered the WoV combo with a couple $6 Midnite Movies and used a $5 off. Heard anything about the sound quality on this reissue?

"Sealab 2021"- Season 1: $8.65
---------------------------------------
Total: $25.95 (-$5)= $20.95

So on average I paid $7 for each title, which I find to be a super deal.

Great idea!

Space Ghost Coast-to-Coast Vol 1 : $8.65
Space Ghost Coast-to-Coast Vol 2 : $8.65
Shaun the Sheep 2-pack: $11.97
---------------------------------------
Total: $29.27 (-$5)= $24.27

One could just as easily get all 3 SGC2C volumes for the same $20.95 net price you paid.

Interesting to note: 3 SGC2C titles cost less than the single 3-volume set. Same with the 10 RiffTrax DVDs that sell for $5.50 each or 10 for $59. Go figure.
