Cashier that checked me out tonight told me this was the last day of the sale, but who knows. He also didn't know of any future iteration of the sale but said that with the popularity of it he figured it would happen again.
Ordered Bottle Rocket (Blu) online today and picked up Before The Rain tonight in-store for what looks like my last purchases of the sale.

A clerk that I spoke with today seemed knowledgeable about details and said the sale proved so popular when they first held it that running it again was quickly agreed upon. Criterion does give them special incentives and terms during the sale; Criterion even had a mention of this sale on their website.
So, there is no way B&N loses money on any sale of CC even with member's 10% off until, just maybe, when the $5 off $20 coupon tries to go through. The clerk was positive that the sale will reoccur at least annually.

I got royally screwed. I found a girl who was going to take the 5 dollar coupon ON AS MANY AS I WANTED. However, I was also picking up something for a friend, not wanting to pay a dollar a minute long distance on my cell phone, I went across the street and used a pay phone to confirm something with my friend, I went back 20 minutes later, and SHE WAS OFF. The new guy at the till would only take 3 coupons. I went to another store and found ANOTHER PERSON willing to take as many coupons as I wanted, but he said they were 19.99 and the coupon was only good for 20 or more, so I got to use 2 there. I bought 26 in total, and only got to use 5 coupons. 100 dollars is around how much I missed out on. I was bummed, but the deal was still so good that it wasn't all that bad.

picked up my final purchase of the sale...special ordered Lost Honor of Katharina Blum for $9.01 after the $5 off 
The Woodland Mall Grand Rapids store is by far the best in that area....had zero problems there and they had tons of stock tonight with multiple copies of a lot of stuff....too bad they restocked so late in the deal. but a lot of shoppers were cruising the CC section....

At this hour it's early Tues. even on West Coast and online discount still shows 50% off, except for Gomorrah. I'm beginning to believe the sale continues for a bit longer.
