to BestBuy this week for false advertising... I might still pick it up, I'll have to see it on Tuesday to decide, still wish they would have gave it another season.

Damn. I was definitely going to pick up Terminator TSCC Season 2 if it were another steelbook since I have Best Buy's steelbook of Season 1. But if it isn't, I'll wait until it gets cheap.

I was absolutely going to get it if it was a SteelBook, and then considered maybe not getting it because it wasn't. I then ultimately decided that since I have the Terminator Trilogy in a T-800 Tin from EzyDVD, Sarah Connor Season 1 in a SteelBook, and can get this in a metal case as well, I should just try and get the entire franchise in some sort of unique/metal package.

What have you got to lose? If they don't end up matching the price then just get it at BB.

I agree with double-oh. I had items locked into "shipping soon" earlier than just days. Also, I had pre-ordered the blu-ray star trek movies set from amazon and they dropped the price $10 the day after shipping. I purposely didn't preorder season 2 because of this and apparently just saved $12.

I can see why Season 2 of Sarah Connor is more expensive than Season 1 (22 episodes compared to 9 episodes for Season 1), but I might wait to see if the price goes down in the future. It doesn't seem like much of a first week bargain price to me.

The DVD set only has a MSRP of 59.98, so the $36.99 sale price is actually not as good of a deal (only 38% off)....

If you're talking about the BD, the MSRP is $79.98....the sale price of $44.99 is 44% off list, a pretty decent percentage off for a "first week sale" price....it will probably have a regular price there of $59.99 or more....

No DVDs for me this week. Will be buying the delux edition of David Gray's CD, and if I buy anything else it'll probably be a CD that's not a recent release.

well looks like they just lowerd the price a little bit, its not down to 64.99 which when you factor in sales tax on the 59.99 price at best buy is about the same. usually my shipping soon kicks in around 11:30pm on sunday nights. i think iam going to give it a few more hours and if the price hasnt dropped down anymore by 10pm i will cancel and just pick it up at bestbuy in tuesday morning, i mean if its the same price i might as well get it instore so atleast i will have it at the time my card is charged.

If you pre-order the new Star Trek movie and a select few others, including season 2 of TOS, then you save $10 dollars. In the cart the prices are $24.99 for new movie and $54.99 for Season 2 TOS.

Picked up SCC S2 on Blu-ray at the Landmark BB in Alexandria, VA. I came in at opening and only saw one copy.
Anyway, it is a slipcase (opening on the right side) and not a Steelbook as previously mentioned. It is pretty nice though.
edit: I should also say it looks just like the Smallville metal case; at least, from the pictures. I don't have Smallville, myself.

Perhaps the fact that this is not a SB is due to this season having 6 discs? I don't know the maximum amount of discs that can be fit into a SB; the most I've seen is the Dario Argento Collection, which has 5. Perhaps 6 is just too many discs?
Anyway, I can understand why Best Buy wants these things. They are likely MUCH cheaper. You can tell by the quality. Less metal and it seems a cheaper metal is used. There is no extra plastic or anything really. I'm just surprised they wouldn't have wanted to do a SB for this season, considering how fast the first season's SB sold out.
It also surprised me to see how FOX used the "big" package for this release; they couldn't have used a slimmer case like they did for Season 1? It seems unnecessarily bulky, especially given the recent trend in slimming down packages.
All those complaints aside, I do like the presentation of this release. The Metal Slipcase has a nice front cover; I always liked that promotional shot, so I am glad it made it on the DVD cover. Also, it's nice that at least the spines match. While this doesn't really matter for the SB release, seeing as how there is the extra metal protruding from the spine, it will be nice for the standard release. The slipcover for the first season and the side-entry slipcover for the second season should align nicely and the words (title, logos, etc.) seem to be (from what I can remember) very similar, if not identical. Also, the episode booklet contained in the case is very nice. Lots of information, promotional shots, and screenshots. The disc art is simple, but effective, and I was glad to see them get most of the main cast on the discs.
While I am disappointed that it wasn't a SB (the package itself doesn't tout the SB name, but the shelf at Best Buy did), this will at least look nice next to the SB and my T-800 Tin from EzyDVD.
