halloween/scary/Horror movie deals yet?

I was wondering if anyone has seen any good deals yet on scary movies. My local Kmart has the usual $5 horror movies already up. I was mostly interested in dollar tree $1 DVDs like they have had those double features or single classic horror movies like they usually do. $.99 cents only stores had some last year too. I will be going to .99 only tomorrow i will update if I see any there.

I haven't seen any just yet but am hoping to see some pop up very soon. I know Walmart usually do their display around early October.

It's still a bit early.

Wal-Mart generally puts their Halloween DVDs out around late September/early October.

Best Buy usually has a big sale around the last few weeks of October.

Can't wait for these sales.

Last year's $5 horror sale at Best Buy was great.

Thanks for the heads up.

I hope that sale goes on for a little bit, as there are good prices (with Free Shipping) on much of Synapse's Aussie Horror/Exploitation releases.

Re: halloween/scary/Horror movie deals yet?

When I bought my Elite Xbox that dropped to $300 a couple of days ago at Bestbuy, I saw a awesome display rack of all kinds of horror DVD's. Don't know if they we're on sale per say, but there we're definetly some deals to be had. I saw a lot of the Friday The 13th Movies in 3D with awesome looking slipcovers and include 3D glasses. Might buy me some of those editions, hehe.

Re: halloween/scary/Horror movie deals yet?

I did see some $5 horror titles when I was at kmart today. dawn of the dead and day of the dead (the george romero originals, not the new versions with the "superzombies", dead people should not have super speed). george romero allways has and allways will be, the king of the zombie movie. the more I watch land of the dead, the more I love it, this movie does get better with repeated viewing!

Re: halloween/scary/Horror movie deals yet?

Fred Meyer had a stand of 5.99 Sony horror movies, most of which are exactly as last year's. What I can remember was Christine S.E., Candyman S.E., Jason and the Argonauts, The Cave, Fright Night, both Underworld movies, November, and a couple more I can't recall right now. The only one I didn't have was Lugosi's 1943 The Return of the Vampire which I picked up.

Re: halloween/scary/Horror movie deals yet?

The Giant Eagle stores (in Ohio, at least) has a special deal on Universal horror DVD's. The single disc editions of "Frankenstein", "Bride of Frankenstein", "Wolf Man" and "Dracula" are $4.99 with your Giant Eagle card. For $8.99 (with card) they have the "Universal Horrors" 2-disc set which contains "Man Made Monster", "Night Monster", "Horror Island", "Captive Wild Woman" and the 1941 "Black Cat".

There are other films like "Shaun of the Dead" and the "Chucky" franchise as well. All the DVD's have a $5 coupon inside for Halloween candy purchases.

Re: halloween/scary/Horror movie deals yet?

I posted this in the "BJ's deals" thread, but it also seems up the alley of this thread:

I was in BJ's this afternoon and saw several Paramount horror/suspense titles for $3.99. The ones I recall:

Dead Zone
King Kong (1976)
Rosemary's Baby
Graveyard Shift
Silver Bullet
Breakdown
Sliver
Silver Bullet
Eye for an Eye
Tales from the Darkside: The Movie

I also saw some cheap Anchor Bay Blu-rays ($12.99):

Grace (just released this week...$19.99 and up online)
Children of the Corn
Hellraiser
Halloween
Dawn of the Dead
