There is a new ad out Wednesday advertising Halloween Horror DVDs. Titles shown in the online ad were:

You have to keep in mind that the *same* ad comes out in the Sunday paper for some and for others it will be in the Wednesday paper.

The ad comes in the Wednesday paper here, but they put the merchandise out and put ads in the store displays on Saturday just as if it were a Sunday paper ad. I was told that this is because they are part of a larger "area" whose main ad goes out on Sunday. They've been told to put the stuff out as if they were in that group even though the local ad does not come out until Wednesday. I used to wonder just how they would be sold out of ad stuff by 10am the day the ad came out (9am opening) until I finally asked and was given the details. I now set my email/store preferences for one of the stores ~70 miles away so I get the ad when I should *or* just go in Saturday and see what's up.

Just got back from the Torrington CT store.

I was surprised to find Tekkonkinkreet and Katsuhiro Otomo's Memories, then I remember what I originally paid for them :::sigh::: I picked up 2 copies of Tekkonkinkreet for Xmas gifts and the superbit version of Panic Room for me.

They were also putting out Christmas CDs...Happy Soul Christmas, everyone!

Picked up all 15 James Bond Special Editions (single disc) I didn't already have in Volume 3 of the James Bond Ultimate Edition. At $3.00 each I couldn't pass up having a complete set of the first 20! Also picked up an extra copy of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" for a friend, who like me, considers it "The Best of the Bonds"!

I went in today to look at the $3 horror movie selection and instead there were 2 standups with $6 previously viewed movies. I looked around and didn't see any of the titles mentioned in the ad. Weird.

The store I went to Sunday (Wappinger Falls, NY) had the horror DVDs not by the other DVDs, but in their own bin near the front of the store, next to another bin containing mostly country holiday CDs.

Also picked up Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. However it was one of those previously viewed movies, so as soon as I got to my car I open it up and it turns out it was a Red Box rental. It had the barcode sticker still on it and it was scratched to hell. So that was the first and now last time I buy one of the PV movies. I returned it.
