Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I found two great $3 DVDs in a new tray display today that I've never seen before.

Tekkon Kinkreet - Awesome Japanese Anime movie by the makers of Animatrix
Memories - Short Anime stories by Katsuhiro Otomo, who made Akira

die another day is very easy to find in the 2disc, I think it was a box office bomb and the reason that they replaced pierce brosnan with daniel craig. bit of bond trivia-back when sean connery gave up the role of 007, the producers 1st choice before roger moore was timothy dalton, and he passed at the time because he felt he was too young to play the role.

Finally found Saboteur today along with Passion Fish, Not One Less, & a couple I don't remember being mentioned:

Modern Romance (a favorite of mine from Albert Brooks)
Friends With Money

They also had a number of tempting anime volumes, but I'm not in the mood to hunt down complete sets so I just took a chance on Beck vol. 1.

Um, No.

While it can be argued that bond fans in general disliked the film.
Die Another Day out grossed every previous Brosnan film. It was by no means a bomb.

Brosnan was replaced for several (known) reasons
1. He fullfiled his contract, and may have been perceived as getting too old.
2. After finally getting the rights to make Casino Royale, the producers chose it as the next project. In order to do it right, they needed someone younger. Hence the audios to Perice.

They have a massive restock. But it appears to be mostly stuff they had before.

I did pick up "Tremors 3" and "The Beast" (wide and full screen version).

No Bond titles.

I did ask the manager who was working the register. He said they are expecting a new Bond shipment in two weeks. Or so he claimed.

Motorama, Damn last time i saw that movie was on HBO in the early 90s and i had no idea it was even on DVD. I'd love to find it but only if it's WS. I hate how Sony drops the WS side and just re-releases the movie FS only.

I don't think Motorama was released with a widescreen and fullscreen side. Think that release is it (the anomaly being the back cover wording of anamorphic full screen).

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I was at my nearest BL today here in Thomasville, GA talking with one of the stock clerks and discovered they have one of the cardboard DVD displays in the stockroom that's marked 'sale', so I'm hoping that it will be out tomorrow and possibly have some new titles. I did manage to find 'A View To A Kill' which will leave 'Never Say Never Again' and 'Quantum Of Solace' as the only titles needed to complete the collection. I also signed up for a Buzz Club rewards card today online and picked it up in the store. It doesn't really save you that much but after 10 $20 or more purchases you can take 20% your next entire purchase, so it could come in handy when they don't have one of the regular Buzz Club 20% deals going on. I've spent well over that in DVDs at BL in the last year easily so a little saved is better than nothing. Will post back about the new display if it's out soon.

I read that. Check out what DVDTalk's review of the movie. They can't make out what the true OAR is.

This release is definitely in a modified aspect ratio but there doesn't appear to be a widescreen/fullscreen release for it.

I did not know that. It's very ironic, seeing as later on when Dalton became Bond, he was the 2nd choice. Pierce Brosnan was the 1st choice, but the Remington Steele producers wouldn't let him do it because of schedule conflicts.

She had her breast implants removed, and suddenly nobody wanted to hire her anymore. I'm not joking either. Whether or not those 2 facts are related or not, I'll leave up to you... I did see her in an episode of Stargate Atlantis last year though. She played Col. Sheppard's ex-wife, I believe... She still looks pretty good. I think Amy Acker looks a lot like her, but is younger/hotter. Maybe that's just me...

In regards to the BL finds of late, I am shocked that people are still finding WB TV seasons. It blows my mind. Gotta love BL...

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Forgot my 20% off coupon, but still picked up the following today:

- Girl On The Bridge (finally!)
- Origin: Spirits of the Past (2-disc Special Edition)
- Vexille

In addition to the titles above that weren't put out earlier in the week, this particular store (Tri-County Mall area) had a ton more FUNimation anime titles. The closest thing I saw to a complete series was Speed Grapher volumes 3-6, but I passed since that series isn't very well regarded.

I found a single copy of this but it was one of the previously played DVDs for $6.

A couple of interesting finds today that I don't think have been mentioned:

Tabitha: The Entire Series
Harold and the Purple Crayon: The Complete Series

Both are 2-disc sets for $3 with about 5 hours of runtime each.
