Because you just spent a lot of money at once? Or because you own a lot of Criterion's?

I kid. I really want to order A Woman is A Woman. I'm going to try and make my mind up tonight.

I really want that one, too. It was out of stock last night, but was one of the items replenished this morning.

That's a reasonable interpretation, and that's why I haven't argued with any clerks that refused to apply the coupon.
The first price I see on my cash register receipt is either $29.99 or $39.99 before the 50% discount is reflected on the next line, and followed by my members discount on the next one. Doesn't say before manual discounts on the coupon. I'm no lawyer but if it went to court it wouldn't surprise me B&N would lose with the wording on the coupon. Of course if you don't argue they are not going to honor it, but most stores I have visited it has not been an issue. Even if that is what they meant before manual discounts the $39.99 titles should still qualify since they are scanning at $20 before members discounts.

The westside pavilion on pico has nothing just one table top of criterion dvds on the third floor. Terrible selection.

I've had no luck with the $5 coupon on $30 titles. I use 'em on the $40 titles, though. I have had luck using the 20% off coupon on the $30's. That nets me a final price of either $13 or $10.80. I'm happy, although I wish I had hit the stores first, instead of loading up on .com.

I feel the same, but then again, the titles I really wanted most I bought online first , so I don't mind that I paid a little more for them. The titles that I am buying now in the store are my second tier of most wanted, so paying less for them kind of fits.

Reserved 2 more titles at 2 B&N in the city so I have at least 2 more I will be buying.

re: (DEAD) 50% of Criterion @ Barnes & Noble - 7/14

Also I want to give a big thumbs up to customer service at Barnes and Noble.

Out of 4 or 5 orders I have received. One shipment of Dvd's had 3 that where damaged(I think during shipping)the box looked in good shape.

Anyway I just called CS last week, and let them know A few cases and disc where damage. They just wanted to know which ones.

They sent out a prepaid return label for the returning them USPS.
And they must of sent out the replacements the same day,as they came the day after receiving the return label..

Cheers

Also another good thing about this sale.I think we well see alot more Criterions for sale or for trade on DVDtalk.I know I have about 10 or so I want to trade for others.
I'm going to post mine in the next week or so.

I thought I could resist this sale but I broke down earlier this evening and visited a local B&N. Picked up Vampyr, The Seventh Seal (blu), The Last Emperor (blu) and Man Bites Dog.

Any thoughts on whether to get the Last Emperor 4-disc DVD or the blu-ray? From what I gather the extras are pretty much the same and all in SD. So, it basically comes down to whether you want better audio/video on the theatrical cut or if you want the extended cut which is not on the blu-ray.

I noticed Nights of Cabiria is available for order. Since it is listed as a 1 to 2 week wait it might be a gamble since it's supposed to be OOP.

Spending the day at tha Baltimore Aquarium with the family. Right next to it is a B&N. I left my coupons at home, but am still resisting the urge to check their stock and grab a few at "full" price.

Resist the urge. If it gets too tempting give your sponsor a call. If that doesn't work, head straight to meeting or pm one of us. We'll guide you through it.

Just got The Friends of Eddie Coyle today. This completes receipt of all titles in my three orders.

Trying to resist the temptation to go to the well one more time. Don't know if I will be successful or not.

re: (DEAD) 50% of Criterion @ Barnes & Noble - 7/14

Good. I'm finally running out of online coupon codes to use. This sale is killing me but when I look at the prices of the same titles on Amazon or something, I succomb to the temptation. Just to be clear however, the five dollars off twenty dollars coupon is only for members, correct? Otherwise, I need to dive back in.
