iirc, twec is offering some sort of "digitally signed" poster with pre-order. i didnt pay much attention, as i try not to stray away too much from dvd (and now br ug!) exclusives.
regular package exclusives mixed in with other regular package dvds. special package exclusives mixed in with other special packages.
how about everyone else? anyone have an exclusive shelf or two of exclusives?

Do most people store their boxsets together?
I got tired of forgetting I had a title in a boxset, so now take all individual cases out and file them alphabetically. For boxsets that can't be separated easily, I have them all together for now, but plan to file tham alphabetically with all the regular movies.
On exclusives, right now they are all in boxes, largely unorganized, but I plan to eventually file them along with the normal stuff, once I get them in a database. That project will take at least a year's vacation I imagine.....

Some of my boxsets/exclusives are displayed on the bookshelf. Everything else is in boxes. I did attempt to include a paper sheet listing what is in each box, but as things shift around...it becomes less and less accurate. Thus currently I do not have a recommendable system.

I always think I'll go back to that system, if I ever become more like my avatar. Of course, a computer system listing where I store everything would probably be better.

You can even print out barcodes to put on your boxes so an iPhone or various other handheld devices can tell you what's in the box. But we're off topic.

My wife tried to surprise me one time while she was off from work after surgery and tried to put everything in alpha order for me. All 3,000 DVDs...

Funny you should mention that. With my various collections over the years, when I boxed them up, I used to try to make two copies of a sheet listing all the box contents; one copy for the box, one copy for my records so that I could find stuff.

funny yous guys should mention "organizing" and "storing" things in boxes. im moving. yay.
this is my plan:
- put everything in boxes and label each box a number
- each box number gets one excel sheet with details of the contents
question - when (if?) i unpack everything and hopefully onto a new shelving system, is there some sort of program that will assist in "grabbing" titles off my excel sheets?
only program ive used thus far is dvdaf.

I buy my boxes from the post office, each hold roughly 32 titles.

I love all this slightly off-topic discussion, could talk about collecting habits and DVD storage and OCD all day, but I'm thinking that perhaps we should start a separate thread, especially since we're getting close to the point where mods sometimes close threads for length.
Maybe I'll start the next thread today, 05/02/10 and beyond, and keep that thread to mainly just discussion of the current exclusive releases. But then start a new thread continuously linked to the release threads called something like "Official" OCD DVD Collecting and Organization Discussion Thread?
What do you all think?

What's with the Wal-Mart special editions with download tracks?
Are they any downloads you want, or a movie-specific download of soundtrack songs?

New thread created to cover all exclusives from week #228, 05/02/10 and on.
Please consider this thread closed and post in the new thread.
I'd like to keep this one open for editing and quoting purposes though.
