Re: Big Lots Part 4
I had decent luck in the DFW area and left a *bunch* behind. I was mainly looking for Flintstones and the Looney Tunes sets but didn't have any luck on the LT and only had S3 and S6 of the Flintstones.
I did grab myself a copy of the following since it was too good to pass up but ideally I'd swap these to fill in my gaps on the Flintstones and get some LT seeasons if anyone has any to trade. Murphy Brown S1 Lois and Clark S1-3 Popeye V1 Tales from the Crypt S3, 5, and 6 Pinky and the Brain - V2 Josey and the Pussycats |
Re: Big Lots Part 4
Has anyone on the West Coast found these yet? I went to four stores yesterday in the Central Valley CA area (Modesto, Stockton, Lodi) and didn't find any of the new stock - although one store told me that Thursday is they're usual restocking day.

I think I may hit Modesto today. Turlock had nothing new yesterday. |
Re: Big Lots Part 4
Stopped in today since the truck arrived yesterday. Not a damn thing new was put out. The $6 DVD shelves are looking pretty empty. I realize that BL is a close-out type store, but you'd think they would have product on hand for advertised specials.

Re: Big Lots Part 4
Just got back from 2 Big Lots the first one south of Boston had just put out a new display another one of those cardboard 4 ft. displays Damn I am thinking that the clerk is gonna put out the Kubrick or some of those animation sets But NO.

Here is what I picked up: Cabin In The Sky $3 Jeremiah Johnson (keepcase) $3 The Last Voyage $3 "Mr. Skeffington: $3 Humoresque $3 Woman Of The Year $3 Ride The High Country $3 Rock N Roll High School $4 SKYJACKED $3 Steelyard Blues $3 (i don't think I have seen this title mentioned before?) Probably not a bad idea to ask the stores you visit and see if any are doing the same. You would have a much better chance to get what you're looking for when everyone else is waiting until 5pm. |

Stopped into the Springfield, NJ store again today. Total bust, saw none of the recent box sets at all. I really want those Looney Toons and Hannah-Barbera sets badly.

Re: Big Lots Part 4
Did anybody find any $10 complete sets around St. Louis or Metro East area ?
I went to two Big Lots! this morning and they have none of those $10 box sets. Granite City got nothing new just couple of $6 box sets. Dallas, Joey, couple of Superbowl sets and some others. Fairview Heights got couple of LA sets, Joey season 1, OC season 2, West wings, Couple of Dallas sets. I have another question for those who was lucky enough to grab $3 sets or $10 complete sets. Do these sets located in $3 bin or $6 Box set rack or somewhere else in store ? Good luck to all fellow DVDTALKERS and Happy Hunting. |

Re: Big Lots Part 4
Went out at lunch today and hit 3 different stores in the Houston area looking for the new $3 sets:
North Shepherd (they had multiple copies of most titles): Lois & Clark S 1,2,3 Flinstones S 2,3,4,5,6 Pebbles & Bamm Bamm Complete Series Topcat Complete Series Popeye the Sailor Man 1933-1938 Wacky Races Complete Series Tracy Takes On S1 Murphy Brown S1 Superman (George Reeves) S1 Tales From the Crypt S 3, 5, 6 The War at Home S1 Jonny Quest S1 Everwood S1 Kirby (near Reliant Stadium): They had nothing new only a handful of the $6 sets mainly Dallas season 9 and the OC season 2 and the normal $3 titles (which I find I pay no attention to now!). Westheimer & S. Gessner: Either this store never gets anything in or they sell everything out quickly even the normal $3 titles are just a handful there. The only new $3 sets where a few of the Flinstones and only in one season (S 5 I think). I did manage to find a $3 set that had Batman the Animated Series Volume 1 paired with Superman the Animated Series Volume 1. I could only fine one. |

Re: Big Lots Part 4
Didn't see anyone else mention it, but I saw Batman Beyond season 1 for $3 also.

Re: Big Lots Part 4
Another title(s) to add to the recently spotted list is a dual pack of Felicity/Samantha from the American Girl series. It contains the two titles shown here though they were in a large, awkward shaped cardboard holder (so large that couldn't fit on the shelf, they were laying on top of one of the 4-sided wire rack displays). Picked one up for $3 since I know my daughter would enjoy these.

Re: Big Lots Part 4
Earlier I saw some talk of the LA Lakers set being mainly on the west coast. For what it's worth, I've seen that set in just about every Big Lots that I've been to in SC and NC, so it's out there.
