I'll cancel my pre-order for True Blood pre-order now on Amazon and wait until they price match Target - likely after mine ships. Stupid Amazon.

It doesn't cost much more for the BD, so I'm getting that. I don't really care that S1-S6 are SD, and S7 is BD. I see no point in getting it in SD if I can get it in BD...

"My Bloody Valentine" ...isn't that the pic of the 80's version that came out not too long ago? Is the new 2-disc version still gonna be $16.99?

Is True Blood worth a blind buy? I really enjoyed Six Feet Under a lot and I know that this show is also created by Alan Ball but I know its probably quite different.

I think True Blood is definetely worth a blind buy. If you like vampires and nudity, then you'll probably like it. If you're unsure you could always Netflix it, but I think it's one of the better series HBO has put out lately.

[well 24 is shot and shown in high def on tv, so the answer should be kind of simple lol. why buy the standard def when you can finally own a seaon in high defQUOTE=Snowmaker;9439288]Well they had all last year to prepare it.
Now the question is, do I continue buying the DVDs, or now get the Blu-ray?[/QUOTE]

I'm getting the BDs probably, but just to be a devil's advocate... DVDs still have a few advantages.
Again, maybe not factors affecting your decision, but valid reasons and I can easily see why so many people are sticking to DVD, even if the cost is the same.
- Slightly cheaper in this case, much cheaper in some cases.
- Playable anywhere due to DVD players being so portable and so prevalent, while your living room is likely the only place you can watch blus.
- Not being able to lend out your discs to friends.
- A tenth of the market if you ever decide to sell.
- Slight possibility of blu-ray becoming this generation's laser disc and it being harder to enjoy your discs forever.
Again, maybe not factors affecting your decision, but valid reasons and I can easily see why so many people are sticking to DVD, even if the cost is the same.

I sure hope Blu-rays don't go the way of the Laser Disc. I've already got too much invested in the format and upgraded some DVDs.

I won't lend DVDs to a friend until I am fully satisfied that my DVD will be safe in his or her possession. Consequently, only one friend is allowed to borrow DVDs. My friends simply don't treat things well. I won't let anyone borrow a Blu-ray.
