Yes, I got denied. The BS excuse used by the power-mad manager of the moment was "quantities are limited" meant it was not a normal sale. A week or so earlier the same store had no problem matching a similar Toys R Us promo. So, as always, with Best Deny/Worst Buy, whether you get a PM depends solely on how power-mad the manager or supervisor of the moment is that day. I do honestly believe many of them get their power trip and satisfaction in life from denying people. That's why I recommend ordering from Amazon or going to Target.

What do you mean "BS excuse"? Have you read their policy? It clearly states the two reasons why your PM was denied.

Exclusions: The Price Guarantee does not apply to our or our competitors' free offers, limited-quantity items, items for sale November 28th & 29th, 2008, open-box items, clearance items, Outlet Center items, mail-in offers, financing, bundle offers or pricing errors.
So number one, their policy does not include B1G1F offers, and number two, it does not apply to limited quantity items.

Instead of bitching about them denying you (properly) this time, you should be singing their praises for letting you get the (improper) price match last month.

I took Transformers and Ironman to the cashier and show the Target ad. They called target and ask them if they have these titles in their stock. Of course the answer was no and they told me that they can't price match if target is out of stock on those titles. ?!?!?!
Of course it has to be in stock at the competing store. That is a standard rule of price matching, and described in their policy on the wall at customer service and on the web site.

Only saw Eagle Eye coupons on SD DVDs. Used 2 to get Tropic Thunder and Transformers for $9.99 out the door!

Then you tell them to call another store, and another, and another until they find one that is in stock.

That's what I do, but all of us aren't blessed with multiple locations of every chain.

I can't imagine stores calling another chain more than 10-15 miles away for a pricematch.

One of those YMMV deals. I was able to do a PM at BB with Wall-E and Kung Fu Panda, and also able to do a PM at Meijer with Transformers and Wall-E and using the $10 off coupon. I tried a PM at Walmart, and, surprisingly, they wouldn't do the PM. So, I will go back to Meijer for a PM - Target hasn't restocked the movies since Monday. Another Target I was at the other day had plenty of stock, I just didn't have the coupon at that time.

The past several days I had been looking for the $10 off coupon on all the Eagle Eye blu rays I had come across, and none really had them. I hadn't seen this post for a few days until now, but at Target and Walmart took a look at the SD version Eagle Eye and almost everyone had the coupon on front. I would almost check the SD version before blu ray if you are still trying to find one.

I also wish to give a BIG THANKS to Leapfish for initially mentioning this coupon!

BB has finally added online and to their instore signs that an item must be instock before PM? Its been awhile before doing a PM but I had to argue its bullshit since it wasnt posted anywhere. Plus I thought they PMed anything even "buy something get a $10 GC" But where does it say that these BR are limited quantity?

Does taking the coupon off of the Eagle Eye dvd if you don't plan on buying it seem kinda sketchy to anyone else? I mean I could see if your going to buy it and use it but I couldn't see myself doing that...

It definitely feels sketchy, but on the other hand, the coupon does not say you must purchase Eagle Eye to use the coupon.

Ok... I hope I don't get too flamed for this. I went there all ready to peel off a sticker from Eagle Eye to get Tropic Thunder and Transporter but when I grabbed Eagle Eye I was thwarted by the hard plastic shell target places over their BluRay movies, keeping my prized coupon away from my eager fingers.

Was there a simple solution to this I missed?

Go to a different Target is the solution, I guess. The one I go to doesn't use those.

Also, as other posts here say; the coupon is also on the SD eagle Eye disc.

Re: Target Prices - April 5 - April 11

Ok, I was at Target last night and wanted to pick up Iron Man and Indiana Jones on Blu-ray, but they were out of Iron Man. I figured no biggie, I'll just order them from Amazon. But then I realized that Target has the Indiana Jones exclusive. I hate to pay the same price for it on Amazon and not get all that Target has with it. I thought that maybe Target might do a raincheck deal for me, but it's a little far for me to drive, and I won't be that way until Monday. Am I really losing anything by buying it from Amazon? I noticed Target had them both for $14.99 on their website, but it looks like they're just using Amazon as a supplier and still charging shipping, even though the order is almost $30. Man, this really bums me out. Maybe I should just pull the trigger on Amazon.

I'd say the Target edition is pretty cool and niftily packaged. But it's not that huge of a loss. The Target edition is essentially just a combo of the DVD/blu-ray with a smaller version of this book:

Buy Indiana Jones from Amazon and Target then return the Amazon copy for Target, you'll get the version you want. I did mine last year,

Okay, answered my own question today. Got Punisher and Tropic Thunder for $30 at Best Buy. Did the price match no questions asked. I was shocked; the manager just said they dont normally do this but shell try!

Re: Target Prices - April 5 - April 11

I have a question about the $10 mail-in rebate on Transformers. It says that if you send in the UPC for the Blu-ray and your previous DVD copy, you will get a $10 rebate. Does anyone know if they would accept the UPC for the HD-DVD version or can I only do it with the SD version?

That really works? I figured they would have separate UPC codes. Though I guess that depends on how close the cashier pays attention. But many places, anymore, scan the receipt and the item has to be on the receipt. I'm not sure about Target, though. I went ahead and ordered from Amazon and it should get here tomorrow. It's nice having an Amazon distribution center in the next town over, though I wish my wife realized that when she ordered the Lost S4 Blu-ray for my Christmas gift. She was so afraid that it wouldn't come in on time (since it was the week before), that she paid extra to get overnight shipping, even though it would have been there the same day or the next if she just used the free shipping. I ordered some Blu-rays a few days after it came in and they still got there before Christmas .

It definitely has to be the same UPC, both ethically and technically. Cashier can't return an item unless the exact item/UPC is on the receipt.

That said, as long as the UPCs match, I don't see a problem with it.
