Pinocchio Blu Ray (3/10) $21.99 w/water bottle @ TRU

on the front pg of their new circular

for comparison:

Target - $26.99 with Pinocchio music CD on pack
Best Buy - $25.99 with collectible 3-D cup
Amazon - $24.49
Frys - $26.99

I had mine on preorder with Amazon for 23.27 after Gold Box Quick Pick savings and free shipping w/Prime so I guess I have to decide if the gas is worth the free tchotchke or not as they both will be about the same price after TRU tax (EDIT: keeping my Amazon preorder)

reminder: this set also comes with a copy of the SD dvd

Good deal. Thanks for the heads up. On my normal Tuesday trip to Best Buy I'll be swinging by TRU as well for Pinocchio BR.

No TRU circular in the newspaper for me this week. I want to price match at Best Buy, which is <5 mins away; TRU is ~20 mins away.

doubt PMing at BB would be that simple as they have their own value add (3D cup) with purchase and can claim it is a different promo

Um, just saying, but you know we have a weekly thread here that compares prices on all new releases and lists all freebies/exclusives?

will PM at BB when i get the chance this week. don't care for any of cups/water bottles/pins that are being released with pinocchio, so getting the best price and being able to use my RZ certificates works

Getting Resident Evil 5 for the $20 giftcard, and then using that giftcard on Pinocchio

I've never checked that thread. I don't care about freebies which is what I assumed that thread is about. I just want the cheapest price.

Anyway, guess I should start checking the other thread.

Agreed with above post, etc.; I never check the referenced thread. When something is a hot deal, it gets it own thread (like this one?) and that seems to be good enough for me. Thanks, OP.

Re: Pinocchio Blu Ray (3/10) $21.99 w/water bottle @ TRU

is the blu ray version actually going to be in HD?

I saw the promo during the Simpsons HD broadcast and the picture had the black bars on the left and right of the screen.

that would be a ripoff if that is how the picture on the blu ray looks like.

I don't want to go out of my way to Toys R Us for that water bottle

it looks similar to the 3D Best Buy cup but the best buy cup looks better.

It's not a "ripoff" to present the movie the way it was made.

Black bars have nothing to do with whether the image is HD or not. Yes, "Pinocchio" will have the black bars on the left and right sides of the screen, because it was made when 1.37:1 was the normal aspect ratio ... in other words, before widescreen came into being.

The Blu-ray will be in high-def. It will also be in the correct aspect ratio.

I visit your weekly thread all the time, and find it very helpful. But I don't see the Pinocchio TRU deal listed in your chart on top, so I wouldn't have known about it without this thread...

Thanks. We had the TRU stuff in the exclusive section there, but not up top. Now that the BD price is confirmed (thanks OP!) it will be added into the top chart.

I'm not trying to "get rep" or credit or anything here. I just noticed this thread as pretty much duplicating what we've been already doing every week, and wanted to make sure people knew what services were being offered here at DVDtalk. Separate threads are great, but we're trying to make it easy for people by putting all the big releases in one place with price comparisons for all retailers (and all the freebies/deals/exclusives too). No matter how I phrase this someone will take it as me "tooting my own horn", but it's not that, I only do a small part of the work in those threads.

There aren't any coupons of any kind out there (Disney or otherwise) are there? The $10 coupon for High School Musical was very nice!
