I'm torn on this. I got S2V1 release on some kind of deal. $12.99 is a good price but I'm not sure if I'll ever get to watch 'em.
I put 'em in my shopping cart just in case, though. I enjoyed the show back in the day so it's tough to pass this up.

For those considering getting these, you might check out Target first for Season One. Our local store had several in the 2-Pack package for $19.99 (includes both volumes of S. 1).

Yep...thanks for the updated info, Starman! This is a steal at this price...I'll probably pick up one or two for gifts if they're still available.
Sorry, dmkb...just now saw the latest posts or would have replied sooner. Didn't see any of Season Two.
Season One is more realistic science-fiction/action/adventure. Lots of plots featuring foreign spies, conspiracies, etc. IMHO, the later seasons followed Irwin Allen's typical pattern; namely, they became progressively sillier & more far-fetched. VTTBOTS became a "monster of the week" show. Still kind of fun, but I think Season One is far better than the rest. Later seasons brought developments such as the Flying Sub (and color!), but the plots got recycled quite a bit.

To the best of my memory, pretty lame (unless you're into walking plankton monsters). Like most Irwin Allen productions, the facts never got in the way of the story.
I haven't seen enough of Seaquest to really say, but it's probably got more accurate oceanography (and prettier scenery).
Having said that, I loved Voyage as a kid. Just don't expect too much realism in the underwater department (no more so than the typical tv adventure series from the 60's). Similarly, I wouldn't watch 60's tv westerns to learn Old West history, but I enjoyed the heck out of the shoot-em-ups.
