I stopped by one CC to look at flatscreens: CostCo still has better deals by several hundred dollars.

I got the same. Are there any Blu-Rays that you can't normally buy at 30% off from Amazon or even Best Buy? No I'm not being sarcastic.

We still haven't gotten to the percent off that makes a Blu Ray title worth buying at the C.C. closeout sale.

I may pick up a couple more CD's, though, now that they're up to 30% off.

Maybe I missed this somewhere, but is there a close date for the stores? Or just until they liquidate their stock? If it's the latter, they may still be open a year from now.

So should we anticipate actual liquidation prices around that time? At this rate, and from the couple of stores I've gone to recently, the stores still have a decent amount of larger end products.

I picked up The Rocker on Blu-Ray for 20.99. Thought it was a decent enough price to buy it.

Re: Circuit City Liquidation Deals (post your finds here)

I stopped in a Circuit City yesterday with the 30% off CD and DVD. I thought the Blu's were still a bit expensive, though I might suggest anyone looking for "So I Married An Axe Murderer" to try a CC, as the disc was priced at $22.99 before the discount here.

On DVD, I found SNL Season 3 in the "limited" box marked at $49.99 and 30 Rock Season 2 at $29.99, so after discount they were $35 and $21 respectively. I didn't realize the 30 Rock was only 2 discs, but I still paid less than I would on Amazon.

EDIT: Appears I jumped the gun on 30 Rock, it's going to be on sale for $19.99 at Best Buy next week.

Re: Circuit City Liquidation Deals (post your finds here)

picked up a couple regularly-6.99-type titles for 4.89 because an increased deal on those wasn't going to be terribly exciting. Store was starting to disappear, though. only 30% off still, alas.

when i went to CC in Woodland Hills Ca. they're BD prices are mostly 24.99 (these were the re-released to BD titles) 29.99 (titles that have been released on BD at the same time) 35.99 (high end titles Iron Man, Dark Knight)
and i think i might have seen a few 19.99 titles (these you can find for $10 @ Wal-Mart)

nothing really worth getting right now ... amazon is still kicking CC in the ass ... even some Indy. sellers have stuff cheaper

Re: Circuit City Liquidation Deals (post your finds here)

Today (Sunday) the location in Flint, Michigan had a sign saying "last 7 days." I went in looking for PC games and they had NONE... meaning that a liquidating company had been allowed in to rape the place (confirmed by an employee when I asked). I just don't understand why that's allowed to happen... these companies have to be paying pennies on the dollar for the items, which is a lot less than giving the max 60% off discount.

Madison Heights and Roseville stores are the same.

I was so happy to find Poltergeist on Blu-ray today, until I saw the original price was $34.99?!?! Even at $21 (40% off) I still felt it was not worth it.

Re: Circuit City Liquidation Deals (post your finds here)

I actually found a deal. Mediocre at best but still a deal. We have one the those City boutique style stores. I stopped in this morning to check things out.

I checked out a few TV's that I know my uncle is interested in; 2 46" SONY's. The cheaper one was $1359 after discount even though other retailers have the same model on sale this week for $1199. Then the better model was $1839 after discount. That same model is $1599 pretty much everywhere.

I checked out the Blu-Rays and didn't find much because they were at 30% off and most of the prices were $34.99 or $29.99. I did find Flyboys for $24.99 which is $17.50 after discount and picked that up. Amazon had it for $19.99 and I didn't have to buy another title to get free shipping. Amazon charges NY state tax so that's a wash. I know that title was $27 at DVDPlanet so I took a chance. Saved a couple dollars. The only other acceptable titles at $24.99 were Castaway and Men In Black, but I knew both of those can be picked up for less than $17.50 so I didn't bother.

I broke down and bought a few games at 30% off. I figured it was good enough. I might buy more if it goes lower...

Re: Circuit City Liquidation Deals (post your finds here)

Last day for the stores in my area is Sunday and according to the guy manning the door at the Madison Heights, MI store just now, there will be no more price cuts. All remaining merchandise will be shipped to a store in NY. So I'll end up walking with ZERO items from this liquidation sale I guess.

Makes me really miss the Media Play liquidation days.

I was happy to get a new Wii for 10% off, considering they aren't even in stock at most B&M stores.

I'm going to wait and see if the prices drop next week. Been eyeing some Nikon VR lenses and figured they couldn't raise the price on them, so any discount may beat any competitor.

Re: Circuit City Liquidation Deals (post your finds here)

That's kinda how you have to look at it. Be aware of what the price is and if it looks competitive pick it up. I knew Flyboys was $27 at DVDP because I almost ordered it with the credit I have. I could have waited to see if I could get 40% but there was only 1 left, the price was still $10 better than DVDP so I grabbed it. But a deal it ain't

I finally broke down & bought 2 items today, though neither were dvd's. Got their last Logitech MX-400 mouse for $30. Not a great deal, but a good deal, & this was a planned purchase. Also got an Ani Difranco 2 cd set best of for $9.80.

I have the 670, and love it. But I really don't know current pricing, or if that is even a current model anymore... I would check out their website where you can see the differences between models...
