History Channel/A&E Stores, up to 90% off Winter Sale

Just got an email for this, there are some good deals in it, and free shipping over $50. (spotted the complete Danger Mouse set for $10)

http://shop.history.com/index.php?v=history_sale

Usually there are some coupons floating around, but I can't get any to work.

They also have the 8 disc St. Louis Cardinals 2006 World Series set for $8 - that's ridiculous.

Is anyone familiar with and able to recommend Jesse James: American Outlaw or anything in the Ultimate Collections: Real West set or the Extreme Alaska set?

Can you get the same deals in store or is it just online deal?

Much cheaper than what I paid for it, that's for sure. This was the one site I had determined to not deal with because of problems with orders in the past, but there's some good deals here.

Since the changeover to a new site design, are they not connected with live.com anymore?

I couldn't find either store on live, tried a bunch of weird search criteria as well.

The Manhattan Project $2.50

Dang, I just bought it in the DeepDiscount sale for $12. This is the excellent documentary that's shown daily at the National Atomic Museum in Albuquerque.

Out of stock now.

I was going to make a small order of 4 titles including that one, but waited too long, now they are all out of stock. I guess they have at least improved their site (slightly) by not allowing you to order OOS items, but they still leave them in the list so you can see what you missed I guess.

Oh well, I just ordered the Extreme Alaska and Hero Ships. They are both listed as pre-orders, so who knows what that means.

Oh, man, that Danger Mouse set for $10 would have been awesome. I used to love that show growing up and still remember when they announced they were replacing it with Lassie. They showed a clip of Timmy waving with Danger Mouse flying off into the sky. That was a sad day for me.

Buyer beware at this site. These guys stiffed a ton of us during their Fall sale extravaganza and I'll never do business with them again. They are at worse dishonest, at best totally incompetent.

Quite a few of us were directed by a DVD talk post to check out A&E's Fall Sale, and we didn't just buy the Agatha Christie megaset, we also ordered a boatload of DVDs as well. My order totalled over a hundred bucks.

We all got the old "sorry" e-mail, informing us that it was due to a "rights issue or availability issue", and then most if not all of the other items we ordered were either cancelled as well or delayed as well.

In my case, the one item that they informed me had already shipped, when I cancelled the remainder of my order, has not arrived two weeks after they said it had shipped. It took 4 weeks to arrive, and I sent it right back to get my money refunded. It took them months to refund my money.

Check out the thread titled:

The Agatha Christie Collection DVD Megaset (9 disc) $21.89 AETV store on this site.

before you do business with History Channel/A&E store. You'll save yourself a lot of disappointment.

I have ordered multiple times from them and not had any issues. Ordering both under their newest website and the old one, getting alot of their clearance items including, awhile back, some poster prints they had of WWII action.

"Dangermouse: The Complete Series DVD MegaSet" is available again as a pre-order for $15 with a ship date of January 10th, 2009. Shipping for me was $2.95 for a $17.95 total. I would have liked to have gotten this for $10 + shipping, but even with the additional $5 this is still a very good price for the whole set.

^ Good catch. Looks like several items are no longer out of stock, but listed as pre-orders. I was interested in the Cal Ripken DVD set for $10. Even though my last experience with a&e wasn't all that great, I went ahead and placed an order....guess we'll wait & see how it goes this time.

I ordered 5 items the other day (2 were pre-orders) and the 2 that were in stock arrived by fedex priority overnight shipping. I was very surprised, seeing as my total for all 5 orders plus the $2.98 shipping came to $21 total.

My $17.95 copy of Dangermouse arrived today! Came in a bubble mailer via FedEx and was in excellent condition. It still shows as in stock for $15 plus shipping.

I orderded the Cal Ripken set and a few $3 DVDs. The cheap DVDs came via FedEx yesterday. The Ripken set arrived via FedEx today. Not sure why they broke the order up. The lightning-fast shipping was a good value since I just paid $3 for it as well.

^ Yep. After all the problems with orders placed as their website was overhauled, it looks like they have things straightened out now.

Tempting ..... Danger Mouse 89 episodes on 9 DVD's = $0.20 per episodes!
