Since this sale seems to be annual, does it usually only last a week? Should we expect this sale (and, therefore, Amazon's) to end on 12/27?

Well Amazon can be sneaky. There could be the chance that Amazon could sell out and when it comes back in stock, they might put it back to their regular price. When it comes to Amazon, always expect the unexpected when it comes to price shifting.

Is anybody who got the Best Buy Exclusive CD for "The Wire" not interested in keeping it and willing to get rid of it? I'm very interested in acquiring a copy. The only copy of it that any of the three BBs in my area had, the complete series packaging itself was damaged pretty badly. I almost bit and bought it, but the crushed corners would have bothered me far too much.

If someone is interested, PLEASE PM me. I would be extremely grateful.

Kory, I am going to a couple Best Buys this week. How do I know if it has the exclusive cd? It would be a blind buy for me, so I don't think I would want the cd.

There is a sticker on the front of the packaging as well as one on the back of the packaging denoting that it is a Best Buy Exclusive and an extra cardboard "box" shrinkwrapped to the back that includes the soundtrack.

It will be noticeably different from the other sets, just because of the additional packaging attached. And I am not as worried about the condition of that, as most of them I've seen have been crushed, but I couldn't deal with the series itself being crushed.

If you happen to find one, and would be willing to get rid of it without charging me an arm and a leg, I'd be extremely grateful.

Went to Best Buy at 10:30am and picked up Sex and the City: the complete series, Generation Kill and Entourage season 4.

They had plenty of HBO stuff in stock.

Okay, question to all of you:

Is the Sopranos complete series set worth a double dip for $174? That's the best price I've seen it for. However, I own all 6 seasons already from buying them in last years 50% off sale.

I'm debating about picking up The Wire. I'm not sure if I should though... it would be a blind buy. If it was the beginning of January I would be more likely to purchase it I think.

Picked up The Wire. Didn't know about the exclusive CD thing, might check back today and see if they have one and just exchange it (haven't opened it anyway).

Edit: Nevermind, BestBuy.com shows my store is out of stock. May stop anyway just in case, but good thing I picked it up yesterday.

Kory: I'm not entirely sure, but it looked to me like the soundtrack that comes with The Wire set is just "The Wire: And All the Pieces Matter - Five Years of Music from The Wire" which you can get separately on amazon or at best buy or anywhere else. I was under the impression that the "Best Buy Exclusive" is just that they're the only place that has the complete series and that soundtrack packaged together. I got it at the store yesterday, but I haven't opened it. So I could be wrong, but it looks like the same cd.

I was under that impression that it was only available at Best Buy as well. However, it looks like poster Cosmic Bus is going to mail me his copy, so assuming he's not just pulling my leg, and I don't think he is, I should be all set.

Picked up the last 2 Entourage Sets I needed, The Wire complete series, Call of Duty World at War, and a couple of other things. I had $30 in Best Buy Reward Zone certificates, so I really ended up getting The Wire for $77.XX, Burn, and the Entourage sets for $14.59, and CoD:WaW for $30.03!

I would stop by anyways. I was told that there needs to be atleast 3 copies in the store for it to be shown as available online.

Second that. I have had this happen too, where the website says they have none and yet I find atleast one.

I picked up The Wire Complete Series and Band of Brothers (Blu-ray). I wanted to get Deadwood: The Complete Series but I hesitated. That would have been another blind buy...

Extras: Complete Series for $22.49 is the cheapest I have seen. I bought it from Amazon though.
