The complete Benny Hill set has the 18 discs in 6 regularly-sized Amarays.

I'm down for weird science. Is there any word on whether or not they plan on releasing the rest of the series? I think it has been almost a year since they released seasons 1 & 2.

I'm ordering a few items but leaving others on my wishlist because they're cheaper during the BOGO sales. That's my original motive for posting lists of sale prices: I can search for "mnementh" and various DVD titles and find out what past prices were.

holy crap. got the Monty Python set for my brother...i can't believe that's only $30. i begged off the Ealing Studios comedy collection in favor of the weeds sets on blu ray during the 25% off sale, but now it's even cheaper! got that for the wife...so she gets both weeds and that

insane deals. just insane.

So. . . . Is it possible to get a price adjustment on the Kids in the Hall set that I just paid $81.67 for and is now $60.78?

Does DD ever do that?

Went for the UFO Megaset for $21, couldn't resist! At 8 discs, it's probably gonna cost half that much just to ship it to me...

In for Blade Runner and a longtime wantlist item -- Horatio Hornblower! A total of $34 and some change!

Both are out of stock and I was pestered 3 times to sign up for some shopping club that costs $12/mth. Bleh ... That definitely deducts points in my book.

Well shoot -- I put the series set of Rollergirls in my DD wishlist last night, and now it's showing up as Discontinued. Probably just as well... my budget is making this a very tough cart to prune down.

I'm thinking I should concentrate on the A&E titles first, like the Python and Emma Peel sets, because I have NEVER seen them that cheap anywhere else. I'm hoping that all of the Warner 2-disc special editions and box sets will come around again at close to the same price, if not at DD than at Costco or someplace else. Would any of you DD vets advise differently?

And one last hypothetical question... if they put up this sale right after the storewide 25% sale, is it just going to get crazier in December (or January if Xmas sales are flat)?

The WB 2 disc sets routinely hit 9.99 at Best Buy a few times during the year. Some of them are even turning up at Big Lots for 3.00.

I picked up Philadelphia Story 2-disc, Network 2-disc, and East of Eden 2-disc at my local Big Lots. Handful of great classics in the latest Warner wave... hurry in if you can.

Its that cheap because they released yet another version of the set with two additional discs of material. I figured I didn't absolutely need those discs, so I bought the $30 version.

Studio 60 for $23. Great price -- I think that's the lowest it has ever been.

Amazon had Studio 60, briefly, for $12.99 earlier this month. $23 is a great price though, I picked it up earlier this year when DD had it for $22.

I think that is a good deal on the Greatest American Hero complete set for 48.28. I'm assuming that is the limited one with the cape and chance at an autograph. It doesn't say it, but I dont think they released a deluxe set without the cape.

Well, it depends on what you're looking for...

I recently finished watching this complete set in chronological order. A handful of the episodes (5 to 10 maybe) are outstanding and have rewatch value for me. The vast majority are okay but not great -- decent one time but no rewatch potential for me. And a handful (5 to 10 maybe) are downright weak.

But.... its not so much the stories that matter here, it's more the presence of Diana Rigg as Emma Peel! She may just get my vote as the all-time most beautiful lead actress in a tv show. Really, she's off-the-scale gorgeous in these episodes. And particularly in the black-and-white episodes (the first half of the set) for some reason, more so than in the color episodes. So if you find yourself becoming enamored with the character Emma Peel, then the set will be worth owning for this reason alone. If you're more interested in the stories themselves, you may find yourself a bit disappointed overall (although like I said, a handful of the stories do have rewatch value for me).
