Sears black Friday question?

I read in another thread that Sears will have the Sony 350 on sale for $179. Has this been confirmed in any ads yet?

Thanks!

Yep, it's definitely confirmed. Here's a thread on it:

Also, K-Mart will have the same price on Thanksgiving Day.

What to do?! What to do?!

I've been trying to hold off for the 550 (squirreling away the extra $$), but that $179 on the 350 is tough to resist.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the 350 & 550?

7.1 analog outs on the 550, none on the 350. This is a very helpful thread on comparing Blu-ray players-

That and the 350 is 1.1 out of the box (as you'll see the huge debate in the thread I linked to), but you can upgrade it to 2.0 with firmware and a 1GB jump drive. Not that big of a deal for the price difference.

Do you have to keep the jump drive permanently attached for the upgrade to 2.0?

Also, I went into a Sears yesterday to see where the item is located. I asked a staff member in electronics about the sale and the guy said they won't be on sale. I specifically mentioned the sale on Friday and the guy still said no. What a dumbass.

It amazes me that for the majority of the year you can pricematch, yet for one two-day period the stores throw a curveball preventing you from doing so.

I mean it's not like you are trying to pricematch another competitor's price at the store on BF or the day after; you want to pricematch the sale price of the store you purchased the Blu-ray player.

Sadly, because it is a doorbuster, I'm sure Customer Service will be closed to prevent pricematching.

I learned my lesson last year, and will only look to non-Doorbuster items to pricematch.

I hate the fact that these places open so freakin early...4am...5am. It's just crazy. I know the whole reason they do it. But, still is ridiculous.

Also the 350 will not decode DTS-HD or MA,will only bitstream it. 550 will

Well in order to use BD live you have to have the jump drive in,so might as well leave it there.

Sold out for me, as well, so I just took the ad to Wal-Mart and price matched it.
