LOL... I teach at a small college. I made the mistake of telling some of my co-workers I would try to get them a copy.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

Found a copy of the 2-disc Romper Stomper DVD at one BL. Strange thing is, it was the only one there (there were multiples of every other title) and it has a Borders store price sticker on it.

I can understand that one being desirable - It's OOP and a critically-acclaimed movie, although I haven't seen it. The one I'm wondering about is "Wise Guys". This is the movie with Danny DeVito and Joe Piscopo, right? What's the deal with that one? I saw years ago on VHS and thought it was okay, but it doesn't appear to be rare or anything. Is it just that it's so cheap?

BTW, none of these at my Biglots yet. They did have quite a few "Butcher Boy" DVDs, but I didn't buy it on the spot, so I'm sure they'll be gone when I go back.

As one mad scientist to another, I picked up Butcher Boy and enjoyed the black, mad nature of the film. The main character is a shining example of how a psychopath might behave. Well worth the $3 .

Funny that no one took the time to remove the Borders sticker from it...
Well, Borders is getting rid of their DVD department, so perhaps we'll see a lot more Borders titles showing up at Big Lots. That's fine by me! More selection, more bargains!
I picked up The Quiet the other day. It was the only title I saw that interested me. I hope to find some of the recent titles you guys have been finding. My Big Lots is kinda small, and their DVD selection sucks...

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

Seeing plenty copies of the newest Sony and Warner titles around here. Portsmouth has a ton right now, don't miss the end cap in the main aisle of the store. They are also in the normal rack where it usually is.

Plenty of copies of To Sir With Love and City Of Lost Children, Wise Guys, etc. but I still can't find "Tess" which was mentioned a page or 2 back. Also now I am looking for Romper Stomper as seen in a few recent posts above. If anyone wants to trade, my list will be updated shortly.
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=100

I can't stand slashed UPC,s so I only picked up:
Frisco Kid (slashed Warner title, but it only had a nick at the top, practically untouched)
Solty Rei (vol.5 w/slipcover , this is anime from Funimation)

Also saw copies of Starship Troopers: Hydora and Homefront campaigns, not sure if people are still looking for those volumes?

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

My store absolutely sucks so far this year. It's like they're just putting out enough to fill up two sides of the 4-sided metal rack. I've seen about 20 titles mentioned in the past month that I would buy, but I've only seen about 3 of the ones I was after on my last few visits. I stopped in today and got 967-Evil, and that was all I could find.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

Hit 3 BLs in the central NJ area today. No Romper Stomper, Christine, Tootsie, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Coma, Outland, Casablanca, Risky Business, or Tekkonkinkreet yet. Did see a few Wiseguys at one, and a single Dogma (which I snagged, along with a leftover To Sir with Love). Debating whether to pick up the Starship Troopers/Roughnecks series now that five are available (Hydora, Homefront, Klendathu, Tophet, Zephyr; I haven't seen Tesca in quite a while).

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

I just found City Of Lost Children. I picked up an extra copy if anyone is interested in a trade. I'm looking for either Bullitt, or Space Jam 2-disc (I know it's been a while on this one). Let me know if you are interested.

Big Lots' Corporate HQ is located in Columbus, Ohio 35 miles away from the Newark area. There are some titles that show up in Columbus stores that never make it to Newark and surrounding communities and vice versa.
I was in 2 Columbus BL stores today and saw none of the newer Sony releases like "Christine" and "Wholly Moses" I found today in Newark. On the other hand, none of the 3 Hammer Frankenstein titles have shown up in Newark yet.
