Circuit City Black Friday Prices: November 28 - November 29, 2008
#52
Does anyone know if I'd be able to pick up one/some of the advertised items beforehand and then get a price adjustment on Saturday? I'm looking to pick up on a couple of deals, BUT I work in a toy store, so Friday will most likely be an 11pm(Thursday) to 11pm(Friday) day for me. I'll probably have time to make it in on Saturday to get the adjustment, but I don't want to risk them selling out on Friday. The items I'm thinking of are all on the Friday/Saturday part of the ad. Thanks in advance. And thanks for always having the deals before I even know that I need them, Speedy.
what you will have to do is buy the items beforehand. Go in Saturday and physcially return them and then re-buy them with the new price. They would not PM last Black Friday for items previously bought, so I re-bought them and returned the old ones with the old receipt.

Those stores have been taken over by liquidators whose very nature is too sell high for as long as possible.

GH3 bundle for the 360 and the blue DS bundle for sure for me. There's a CC within yards of my apt.
This might be my first BF camp out.
Thanks for the head's up, Speedy!

Or, you could purchase the GH3 bundles now and then have CC match their sale prices.
In my experience I think you can purchase non-doorbuster items and have the stores pricematch them. That's what I did last year when I purchased a few TV on DVD sets at full retail, then went to the store on the Saturday after Black Friday and had them pricematch the items.

I went in this morning and once I saw the long line of people waiting to check out, I walked out. And I wasn't the only one who was walking out without buying anything.
Stupid checkout layout.

Nope. And my store must have had only one or two copies, because it was nowhere in sight when I got there shortly after the store opened. The lines were ridiculous anyway, way worse than any other store this morning. I guess I'll just wait for another deal, even if it isn't as good.

Was it not a doorbuster deal? If not, I may go back and look again tomorrow.

My Circuit City had a completely different system this year. They were only let in about 30-50 people in at a time; staggering people in 10s every 5 min. So we got there around 630 (I think they opened at 5) and got everything we wanted (no big items). Also, we checked out at the Home Audio guy. We were in and out of the store in about 20 min, including waiting outside. Very streamlined. I was surprised, and glad.

I went by the local CC late this afternoon - the DVD section looked like it had been picked over by locusts. One of the managers checkd the system and claimed there should be two copies of Mad Men in the store, but couldn't locate any.
