All store exclusives and freebies - 9/14/08 to 9/20/08
These weekly threads are for the posting and discussion of that particular week's store exclusives and freebies.
These lists will likely be incomplete until Thursday or so, since DVDs are released on Tuesday and one of us needs to visit all the stores to confirm things.

Volunteers needed: I regularly go to Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, and Walmart; but don't visit the other stores every week. If you work at or regularly go to the FYE/TWEC chains, Costco, Borders, K-mart/Sears, Barnes and Noble, Blockbuster, Hot Topic, or any other store that has DVD exclusives; We'd appreciate any updates you could give us.

Hi. If some can, can they post ASAP what is exclusive with the Target "Made Of Honor" and "Speed Racer" that are coming out Tues? It will help me decide if I want to try to work out a trade for them..

Target will also have a free book with "Pushing Daisies: Season 1"... anyone have an idea about what the book is? Not sure if it's worth getting or if it's a book that's only slightly related to the show...
also, this was posted by DouglasRobert in the target thread regarding the "speed racer" exclusive:
so i guess the deluxe edition contains a bonus disc with the mockumentary?

^^My target only had one copy left that had the target sticker.
the exclusive is "Pushing Daisies Receipt Booklet: Secret Recipes from The Pie Hole"
so i guess it's a receipt booklet? can someone scan it if they have it?
Also, did anyone actually find the Circuit City Chuck Season 1 exclusive? the xbox360 Madden Demo is NOT an exclusive, but i wonder if CC carry the exclusive Digital Copy or if it's just a typo because i saw no sign of it at either CC/Target/BB.

^ haven't opened mine yet, but i will scan it when i do. it seems like its a very thing recipe booklet. you can see it through the clear amaray on the bottom. the first target i went to only had one with the booklet and 6 regular versions; there's a specific "target exclusive" sticker on it designating it. the box was messed up though, so i went to another target where they had ONLY the exclusive and none of the regular. kind of odd.

@shyguy1083, it's funny, cause the reason that i didn't pick up that only copy was because the box was messed up. I'm actually thinking about going to another target to find another copy, but i'd like to know if the tiny booklet is worth it... or i might just wait until i upgrade to blu-ray...just maybe...it's tempting.
can you take a picture of the interior of the dvd case as well? thanks a bunch.

Pushing Daisies: Season 1 w/ Target Exclusive

standard episode guide ("menu") included in all editions (left) and target exclusive recipe booklet (right)
inlay with discs two and three
target exclusive recipe booklet (12 pages including front and back cover) opening page
target exclusive recipe booklet last page
imo, the recipe booklet is pretty cool. and since target has it at the lowest price this opening week ($22.99) until it goes on sale for $19.99 next week at circuit city, i guess its worth just depends on how much you care for exclusives? the booklet is cool. it's literally just recipes from some website with pics of the cast. its a neat addition, but i don't know if it's really worth $3 if you just wait to buy it next week. but i can't pass up an exclusive on a movie/show i like, so i'm cool with it
sorry the pics aren't that great. i only have the camera on my phone to take pics. just to give an idea of what it is...
additionally, i saw this at costco, which i don't remember seeing on release week, so i don't know if it's new or if it's exclusive, but i thought it was cool.

Shyguy1083, thanks for the wonderful pictures of Pushing Daisies! I was on the fence about getting this as I did really love the first season and cannot wait for 2nd season to start. Now I think it is definitely one of the more creative designs for DVDs lately! I love the inside artwork and the extra recipe book just seals the deal! Thank you so much!
