Thank You for posting this.
I just wish they'd stop with the 40% off only on weekends. It'd be nice to have one that stretches into a few weekdays.

Ha! I was wondering if they would extend this coupon because they've done so in the past. Seconds after I decide I'll skip getting something else with the coupon, they extend it

Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly

For awhile I noticed most coupons had a code which could be used on on-line. Now, other than the current "Friends and Family", coupons are in-store only. It it my imagination? Does anyone know whether there will be another on-line coupon by the end of the month?

Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly

Am a big CD buyer, and purchase many at Borders, but only with their coupons ... otherwise, just way too expensive. Anyway, realize almost all of their coupons state "single use" during the valid time period. My experience in the past has usually been most stores don't care, especially if you go to a different cashier or it is a separate visit. However, totally different experience yesterday at Borders in Wilmington, DE (Christiana). Bought something in the morning, came back about 5 hours later. Cashier, who was different, treated me as if I was a convicted felon. Wouldn't honor the coupon, called the manager, etc. I frankly wasn't that upset about her not honoring it, but more so just about the treatment ... she could've just said "no", and that would've been the end of it!

Anyone else relate their experiences or comment? My God, it was almost like I was stealing from them, personally!!

Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly

I've never tried to go back twice--I usually have a hard time finding one deal let alone two (only shop there when I have a gift card from my discover card points). How did they know you were trying to use twice? Does it flag it on your rewards membership or did they recognize you?
One time I did have a really positive experience--I was buying a Blu-ray using one of their coupons as well as a manufacturer's coupon (no issues) as well as a comic book (which all their coupons usually say "no comics"). The woman saw some other coupons in my hand--including one for periodicals--and asked if I wanted to use that as well.

Only shop at Borders if you have a coupon of credit; otherwise, it's just crazy high in prices.

Hmm, saw a news story on Yahoo Finance that they will now price match local brick and mortar ads for items they have in stock. This would be great if they actually stocked a lot of DVDs/Blus.

Borders used to have those 33% off online-coupons basically every other day. But I rarely see those anymore.

FWIW, you can now upgrade your Rewards for $10. You still have to pay $20, but they will then give you $10 in Borders Bucks(redeemable from 12/26/10 to 01/01/11)-

I got some coupons via e-mail today for in store/list price 11/16-11/18:

40% off one item
40% off CDs (limit 2)

Also, I took advantage of their new price match policy, matching Target's TV-on-DVD sale this week. No one knew how to ring it in as no one had tried it yet. They were grumbling about possibly being fired, but did manage to ring in the price matches plus my two ABC $10 manufacturer's coupons. If this lasts, it will be great as I get gift cards from Discover at 25% off and would love to be able to use on the Best Buy/Target sale prices (assuming Borders actually stocks the releases).

How do you get them at 25% off? I have a Discover and would be interested in this deal.

If you have a discover card, you can use $20 in rewards points to buy a $25 gift card. When they first started, it was great--you could get a $25 gift card for $15 in rewards points--and that was when borders.com was still part of amazon.com--so you were really getting an Amazon gift card.

Thanks. I see that but it's actually 20% off not 25%. It's still a good deal.

You're right--and I was a math major. I guess I was thinking 25% bonus when buying a $20 GC. Will need to take that into account when looking at the prices--I had always been using 25% when computing my actual costs.

That's a really narrow window to use the $10 but it is a good time of the year to snag a calendar for 50% off.

That's what's keeping me from upgrading. If they gave me the $10 now or let me use it over a longer period I would do it but that's too limiting.
