Batman animated $17.99 at Best Buy

Best Buy is selling all 4 volumes of the Batman Animated Series for $17.99. Been waiting for a long time for these to drop. They also have the 3 seasons of Batman Beyond for $12.99 each.

Thanks a lot, I've been looking for Batman beyond at a good price, glad I didn't order during the DDD sale now.

Batman: The Animated Series - The Complete Series is coming to DVD later this year, probably around the same time as The Flintstones - The Complete Series (Oct. 28th).

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Bat...te-Series/9918

I've been waiting on these for a while now too. They were a total of $85 last November on Amazon and recently dropped to around that price (after the announcement of the Complete Series).

The package art should be up any day now.

These are $17.99 as well at Amazon, so it saves tax dollars for you. I liked this series, but unfortunately the original aspect ratio of 1:33 kills it for me. The widescreen tv has spoiled me so, that I've stopped buying none widescreen shows, even if they're really good. I know its my loss, but I'll just think positively and say I've saved a few dollars instead

The package art showed up last week on The Digital Bits website. I was going to wait for it, but having 4 volumes for $71.96 (I did store pick-up in NH, so no tax) was too good of a deal to pass up. It does look like a pretty nice set though:

They must have just dropped the price to match Best Buy. They were $21.99 yesterday.

My wife tends to leave our TV set to widescreen whether what she's watching was actually produced that way or not. I can tell you that, on our Philips HDTV anyway, Batman: TAS doesn't look bad stretched. In fact, I've noticed the stretching a lot less with animated stuff than with live action. Of course, if you're that resolute, the up-side is that the animated movie, "Mask of the Phantasm," *was* produced in widescreen format. So at least you can watch that bit of animated Bats. It's pretty good, too, IMHO.

That set looks nice! I wonder what the MSRP will be and whether or not right around release will be the best deals on it for a while.

MSRP for the 4-pack of current boxes is $179.95. I'm going to guess the collector's set will be at least $199 MSRP, but it's hard to say.

I'm selling my individual volumes 1-3 in anticipation of that set. It just looks too nice and the show is one of the best renditions of Batman in any form, so to me, it will be worth it.

Has the MSRP of an entire series collection ever been more than the total MSRP of the individual seasons? It seems doubtful that this would be the case here. My guess for MSRP would be $150 at the most, and possibly as low as $120.

Well at $12.99 I think I'll blind buy all of the Batman Beyond seasons. I always dismissed it as a bastardized kiddy show but seeing some episodes and reading reviews it's clear I was in the wrong on that one.

eh, you're probably right, but occasionally these studios put a price premium on the "deluxe collector's edition" packaging and physical extras, so it wouldn't surprise me if it is priced higher.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I love Beyond.

Does anyone know how we might be able to let Amazon know about the prices of the other seasons of Batman Beyond so they can drop them to $12.99 too?

I completely agree especially since Warner's similar release at the same time, The Flintstones Complete Series, retails for $129.72 while the seasons retail for $264.98 and sell for $197.99 on Amazon. Seeing as how the BTAS goes for $133.99 and retails at $179.98, the Complete Series should be around $120 I'd say.

I picked up Batman Beyond on a blind buy. Comic book reader for years but I'm new to these animated series. Is the Justice League sets (that are also onsale) a good buy? Whats the difference between the JL and JL Unlimited series?

I'd think it would be around $100 MSRP for the complete set.

There are 4 volumes (16 discs) and I'm kind of disappointed there aren't any extra discs since there's supposedly new bonus material. Then again I'm not familiar with the extras on the volumes so there may be a good amount already.

Haha. I've never seen anyone be convinced of anything on these or any forums.

I just ordered 3 of these off amazon, and they took an additional $5.40 off. It just said "Promotion Applied". All 3 came to $48.57.

edit. My math tells me that makes them an additional 10% off, or $16.20 each. Probably not worth making a separate thread for, but the OP might wanna update the title/OP.

They are two different series with JLU taking place after JL.

Unfortunately, only JLU s2 is 12.99, judging from their website. The rest are 19.99, which is still a good price, but will prevent me from picking all of them up at this time.

Looks like Batman Beyond only for me. I just saw all three seasons for 16.99 at Target and thought it was a good deal. Glad I waited.
