As reported in AoD

Big Lots (B&M / YMMV)

.hack//sign I think this was the last volume in the series, limited edition $10
Argento Soma box set $10 (I grabbed this)
Angel Tales vol. 1 w/ box $10
Dice box set $10
Galaxy Angel vol. 1 w/ box $10
IGPX
Kaze no Yojimbo box set $10 (got this too)
Scrapped Princess volume 1 and 4, both with figures were $10 each
Yukikaze - Danger Zone (Limited Edition 2-Disc Set) $10
Ross (B&M / YMMV)

Forgot to mention this, but when I was looking at the DVD section in Ross the other day I found a few volumes of anime, mostly Dragon Ball, but I did score Twelve Kingdoms volume 1 for $3.99.

It's not a problem.

I only include the YMMV disclaimer for B&M because of the possibilities of price differentiation and that not all stores will have this in-stock.

I didn't even realize that they had a sale ongoing. I'll definitely pick up Shin-Chan for $18 after Backstage Pass is applied. Thanks for the list, DVDmaniac.
I just got back from my FYE and Shin-Chan rang up for $29.99.

I was up at the mall yesterday and decided to check this sale out while I was in my FYE.
Mine has it listed as Up To 50% off select titles from 7/3 - 7/23.
I checked some of the titles out like Full Metal Complete Collection (old one) it came up $59.99 on sale.

I love how they put 50% off in big letters but "Up to" and "Select titles" is rather small.lol
I know its a common practice but it seems to cause confusion to a lot of people.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm sure there are fewer 50% off titles with this type of pricing promotion.

You'd be surprised at how many people are confused just by "Buy 1, Get 1 Free" :P

So this work with In-store Kiosk prices, since technically it's "online"?
Also, what good does this do, if most prices are cheaper in store :/

First you should wait for the URL to go active for the sale: BestBuy.com/animesale before jumping into any conclusions. In general, prices are cheaper in store, but sometimes the pricing can be the same. And occasionally BestBuy.com promotions are not reflected via the in-store kiosk. We really won't know more until the site become active.

It has been rumored that Claymore will be released in singles. It may be released sometime in the fall, perhaps as soon as October.

Any word on the packaging including Logo (both FUNimation and Geneon's logo plastered on the covers?). Are we looking at FUNimation type boxsets (i.e. Viridian) or Geneon's "conventional singles packaged into artboxes" boxsets?

Although i already snagged Geneon's Black Lagoon's release, should we expect a completely different packaging for Black Lagoon, When They Cry, etc, etc.?

Basically, any word if FUNimation will distribute these all from scratch with respect to packaging? Or have they come to deal where Geneon will essentially push the "play" button on their production assembly line that was on "pause" for several month.

Don't know about the logo. It's possible to have both FUNimation and Geneon logos on the packaging.

Packaging should remain the same for the singles. Some of the unreleased (incomplete) singles should almost be ready. The complete collection may be another story (like Shana since they were no artbox). The pricing for the complete collection has dropped as well, so it's possible for them to go with a more FUNi type of packaging.

Until more information comes out, all we can do is speculate.

I am just curious if anyone knows the background on this. Did ARM approach Funimation after breaking off ties with ADV? OR by chance did Funimation approach ARM causing the whole ADV mess? I hope it is the former.

Since it has been a year since Funimation "rescued" Love Hina and we have not heard a thing since, I would guess it will be well over a year before we see anything on those series that were finished out by ADV before they lost them. Such as:And here I was so eagerly waiting for ADV to put out an AMG S2 collection. But instead of waiting forever on Funimation, I may go ahead and grab the bundle from Right Stuf.

Note: Actually the recent release schedule of the old Geneon titles, included some collection of completed series. But with the size of the ARM deal, I would still expect the complete collections of former ADV titles to still be way off in the future.

No one really knows. This information will probably never be made to the public.

FUNimation has a lot on their plate. I wouldn't expect those former ADV / Sojitz titles to get released until later this year (perhaps fall/winter).

Honestly, this is a very trivial detail, all that really matters is that these shows have been rescued. And now that I look more into it, I actually have a feeling the "logo" might be FUNimation dominant. The spine likely will have the FUNimation logo with the back cover artwork having a smaller Geneon imprint (or maybe even not) along side FUNimation.

Assumption is based on rightstuf's site listing for three titles already with scheduled release dates

Black Lagoon - Publisher FUNIMATION
http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6.../desc/asc/50/1

When They Cry - Publisher FUNIMATION
http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6.../desc/asc/50/1

Fate/Stay Night Boxset - Publisher FUNIMATION
