True, and up until very recently they sent all your packages one-day UPS! Its only my last shipment that was sent regular UPS ground, so those glory days are probably over.

RaMMaR 07-02-08 09:26 AM

There goes what was left of my stimulus check (still waiting for it, BTW) - thanks to Deep Discount, DVD Planet, and now Warner Bros.

Define fast. The order I placed at 7 AM Eastern Time yesterday morning is still listed as "In Process" on MyExpressCheckout.

msmagic 07-02-08 11:23 AM

I wouldn't say fast either. I ordered a bunch of stuff with various release dates. The Closer season 3 was ordered awhile ago, and it shipped yesterday, and is due to arrive July 9th. So much for receiving it on the release day. Ah well, still a great deal.

Most of the orders I've made have been pre-orders, and they always arrive before street date. As stated above, most of the stuff has been shipped UPS one day. As for in stock stuff? I guess it varies by order, but I've never had a long wait.

drainout 07-02-08 12:53 PM

Thinking about pre-ordering some of the Doctor Who titles. Black Orchid would be less 7 and Trial of the Time Lords would be 33. Invisible Enemy, Invasion of Time, Brain of Morbius and The Five Doctors would be 19. Now, should I considering the money spent on the Deep Discount sale? Hard decisions, dangit.

Fiddlesticks 07-02-08 05:01 PM

I was surprised to find a Blu-Ray version of The Adventures of Robin Hood listed, so I went ahead and ordered it (for $16.xx after discount, thanks to the OP). I wasn't aware that they'd released a Blu version, and it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere else, so it was a nice surprise. DVD Aficionado thinks it is scheduled to be released in late August, but there was no indication to this effect on the Warner site or on my receipt. We shall see...

Warner just announced it today for release on August 26th. Your order was a pre-order.

Classic Films 07-07-08 01:22 PM

They finally added the 2 disc sets of Gigi and American in Paris. However they still have not added L.A. Confidential blu ray or 2 disc special edition.

Adventures of Robin Hood (BD) Blu-Ray 1 $16.07 $16.07

Gigi Special Edition (DVD) DVD 1 $10.47 $10.47

An American in Paris 2-Disc Special Edition (DVD) DVD 1 $10.47 $10.47

Entourage: The Complete Fourth Season DVD 1 $20.95 $20.95

I know Gigi and American in Paris will be coming to blu-ray in 2009 but this price seemed too good to resist. Anyway I travel a lot for business and so far I don't have a portable blu-ray player.

Sessa17 07-07-08 02:21 PM

Just placed my 1st order . . .

How the West Was Won Blu-Ray with Book

Quantity Blu-Ray $26.95 Total Price $26.95
Your Savings ($8.08)
Your Price $18.87

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: The Complete First Season

Quantity Blu-Ray $29.95 Total Price $29.95
Your Savings ($8.99)
Your Price $20.96

Pretty good prices on both, but I'm pissed, why the hell doesn't the site have Pushing Daisies - The Complete First Season on (Blu-Ray). I really wanted to use the coupon for that.

The site is really strange sometimes. Preorders can be added to the site and yet these items don't appear on the coming soon list for awhile. The Pushing Daisies Blu-Ray had been on the site as I know I ordered it. I haven't heard that it has been canceled. It seems to be the only new Warner TV show in blu-ray as such shows as Chuck and Gossip Girl are in SD only. Hopefully the code will still be good if and when the blu-ray version is listed again.

lumberjack 07-07-08 05:18 PM

Sopranos: The Complete Series = $210 plus sales tax.

Warner has this for preorder for $299.99. It comes to $210 after coupon plus sales tax ($30 per season). That's not bad, but I really am wanting this for about $150, so I'm going to wait and hope someone like Amazon will have a lightning deal for this a few months after release for a deeper discount.

mayorofsmpleton 07-07-08 05:39 PM

Seriously... patience with that one. Look at the amazing deals SEX and the CITY and Six Feet Under have had with their complete series sets...

deto 07-07-08 06:17 PM

i'm going to pre-order the Complete Flintstones set.

Brent L 07-07-08 07:40 PM

With all of those complete sets coming out I think we need another B&N 50% off coupon. :D

Chris-K 07-07-08 11:37 PM

Nice to see the coupon code still works after its originally reported expiration date. I've just used it a second time to order yet more Doctor Who titles -- the October ones -- and The Best of... What's Left of... Not Only... But Also, which is a compilation of remaining sketches from a sadly decimated series that Peter Cook and Dudley Moore made for the BBC in 1965, 1966 and 1970.

They finally added L.A. Confidential blu-ray. The price after coupon is $16.07 plus tax. The SD 2 disc special edition is $10.47 after coupon plus tax.

blokhed 07-15-08 10:55 AM

Pushing Daisies blu-ray is there now, for any that were still searching. I think I'm finally going to take advantage of this offer now that LA Confidential is up.

**edit**

Hm. With tax, it's an OK deal, but not that much greater than Amazon's pre-order prices. I'm looking at Dark City, LA Confidential, and One Flew Over on blu, and the total with tax is 55.20 (18.40 per movie). I guess I'm saving a few bucks, but it doesn't fill me with the same sense of triumph that other sales have.

Robert 07-15-08 09:32 PM

I wouldn't buy any of those blu rays with the hard bound book style packaging like 'Bonnie and Clyde' and 'One Flew Over...' from Warner's site. They use no padding whatsoever inside thier shipping boxes so they're going to take a beating during shipping.

Does anyone know when "Warner Bros You Must Remember This" documentary is going to be released on DVD? I am guessing it will be after it airs on PBS.

Red Dog 07-17-08 02:42 PM

What are the shipping experiences people have had with this retailer? I placed an order last Monday 7/7 for 2 in-stock items and 1 pre-order and no notice of shipment yet.

Lecithin 07-17-08 03:04 PM

Thanks for the code. Been meaning to get all the new Doctor Who series but they are always too expensive. Even though they charged me $10.39 in sales tax, I ended up getting all three seasons for $54.77 each. Still a lot, but as good as I can expect to get I suppose.

Hopefully, they have fixed their terrible shipping delay problems (promised myself I would not use them again after the last debacle, but here I am...)

)

For some reason the four single disks of series 1 of the new version of Doctor Who combined are cheaper than the Series 1 set. I don't know if they are missing any extras . The single disks are $15 each or $60 on the Warner site before the 30% off. Doctor Who: The Complete First Series is $80 before the discount.
Only Series 1 was released as single disks.
Series 1 and 2 sold as a 2 pack cost $140 which is the same as buying the 4 single disks of Series 1 for $60 plus Series 2 for $80.

Oh, really? Shoot. Hopefully my other blu-rays will protect One Flew Over...

My list is quite a bit cheaper than Amazon (well, 14% cheaper, anyway)...

Amazon:
L.A. Confidential [Blu-ray] $19.95
Looney Tunes: Golden Collection, Vol. 6 $44.99
Dark City (Director's Cut) [Blu-ray] 18.95

Total $83.89

Warners:
L.A. Confidential [Blu-ray] $16.07
Looney Tunes: Golden Collection, Vol. 6 $34.97
Dark City (Director's Cut) [Blu-ray] 16.05

Total $72.05 (after coupon and tax)

coop22 07-17-08 09:14 PM

I received Bonnie and Clyde from this sale and it arrived in perfect shape. Also received a box set with it, and this was also in good shape. Only item remaining from my order has not been released yet.

Glad the deal has been helpful to so many...

I got an e-mail yesterday that several items i ordered July 8 are out of stock and they expect the items to ship within 30 days. I believe this e-mail is automatically generated when they don't ship an item within a certain amount of time. They use to send this e-mail on preordered items. After 30 days they would send a second e-mail saying the order would be canceled unless you notified them that you still wanted the items. Even though the items were still preorders and I said I still wanted them, they cancelled the order anyway. At least they seem to have fixed this problem as the items I was told about have already been released.

Has anyone been able to cancel individual items from their order--I know I had a hard time doing this in the past. Wasn't sure if has gotten better.

I had ordered Chuck S1 DVD, but with yesterday's announcement of the Nov 11 Blu-Ray release, I'd like to get that instead.

Customer Service Department at (800)364-6928, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 12:00 Midnight (EST), or send an email to [email protected]

I just got off the phone with them. I specifically asked that they cancel just the one item and leave the rest of the order. I was told their normal procedure was to cancel the entire order. The CS rep said she called headquarters and they said they would cancel the one item. We will see.
I will check my order at https://www.myexpresscheckout.com/wa...ignOn.asp?SID=
to see if it was done properly.
Bottom line check your order after you call or e-mail them.

kyle 07-23-08 01:01 PM

Thanks--maybe I'll just leave it and try to trade/sell/exchange it later. Many of the other items have gone up in price since I placed my order (Torchwood S1 BR alone by almost as much as the price of Chuck), so don't really want to lose those other items.

I placed an order on July 8 as well (2 in-stock, 1 preorder) and I've received no notice of anything so far.

I'll probably just cancel the whole order.

I have placed several orders and this is what I have found:

It takes awhile for the first shipment to ship from an order. After that, I receive pre-orders about a week before they are released. It just takes awhile for that first shipment to come out. Not sure why.

rmick 07-24-08 11:32 AM

I just ordered all three seasons of Doctor Who. Does this mean I should be waiting a while for shipment?

Based on my experience I would say at least two weeks. Once they ship you should have them in a couple of days.

Dogbert 07-24-08 11:53 AM

It took nearly a week for my first shipment to get sent out (the one thing I ordered that was in-stock). Everything else, however, has arrived on or before the release date. In summary, shipping speed has been great for pre-orders...

Classic Films 07-24-08 12:25 PM

In the last couple of weeks they have improved adding newly announced titles
to the site.
Recent examples are Quo Vadis, Chuck in Blu-ray, Warners Holiday collections Vol 1 and 2, and Warner Bros. Homefront Collection. Hopefully this will keep up as Warners has been announcing a lot of classic titles lately.
