Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
No emails or coupons for me from B&N lately. :-( If I had a 50% off one I'd try to order Lost S6 Blu-Ray.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
I received one email offer and found it was only for 15% off. I think I'll pass since there are a lot of other 15% coupons available I can use if I need one.
I may take advantage of the eBook offer if I can find something of interest to buy that is around $10. I saw one eBook for around $11.99 I might buy that is several dollars cheaper than the book version. Since I don't own a Nook I will have to use my computer or laptop to read it.

I have about 20 accounts, which all forward to one main email address so I don't have to check them, and I only received ONE email with the coupon (it was only 15% off). Like you stated, the last account that I created is the only one receiving emails from B&N now. Very strange...
BTW, the coupon does NOT work with the library link. I was hopeful that this one would, but alas it does not... Unfortunately it looks like the mystery coupons have the usual restrictions. I couldn't get it to work with a pre-order. Even though my coupon was only for 15% off I might have used it if it was valid with pre-orders, or one of the bookstore links.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
I got the e-mail at my business account. At first I tried using it with my regular B&N account...not valid; then I noticed I can only use it with the e-mail to which it was sent. So I logged out of B&N and tried checking out as a new member using my business e-mail...but coupon wouldn't take. As far as I can tell, I fulfilled all the requirements - tried buying Kurosawa's First Films set. --Peter

Looks like they disabled stacking of the Visa and Military links with coupons a well, at least I can't get it to work.

Mine was 15% off too. Well, picked up Lake Mungo for $6.93

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
Got the invalid code response when I tried to checkout.

Just tried the Visa link and it stacked with 20% coupon. Military doesn't work however.
Whenever I use the Visa link with the 20% coupon it looks like the 20% off discount is getting applied, but in the final step, after entering the card number, it suddenly says the coupon is invalid and only applies the 5% Visa discount instead. |

OK, I just placed an order and used X3K4T7B with no problems. I paid via paypal and there appear to be no issues here. Are you guys using a visa card or something?
Steps used: click on visa link add dvd to cart clicked checkout entered info added coupon clicked order It still comes in handy if you wish to purchase 1 dvd or dvd set that does not qualify for free shipping. Thanks for the tip! |
Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
just one more voice to the chorus of "Nice fucking coupon B&N!" - I am a member, and have one single account that i buy with and so there can be no confusion between emails/accounts. And no matter what I tried i couldn't get it to work. I finally got someone on the phone and he tried to tell me that it was only valid on books - not e-books, or textbooks, or dvds, or cds, or electronics of any kind or accessories....just regular old books. I told him he was misinformed since i had the terms right in front of me and then he claimed the words "digital content" covered any kind of disc medium
whatever...i don't really need to buy anything right now, but was intrigued to see how cheap I could get the Von Sternberg Criterion set. i'll just want for the november sale :) |
Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
****** is showing a B&N offer of three DVDs for $20. Does anyone know about the offer or the details for it?

Thanks for the link but it appears the sale is no longer active. When I added three DVDs to my cart they were not reduced to $20.

Odd. Right before I posted the link I added 3 titles to my cart and they dropped to 6.66 each. Now they are full price.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2
They are closing the largest Barnes and Noble, in Lincoln Center in NYC in January. Reason given for closing is high rent demanded for new lease. Hope it is not a sign of things to come. Its already been announced it will be replaced by a discount clothing store, Century 21.

Century 21? The downtown discount store? I'm amazed because they're such an unpleasant shopping experience with their crowded, narrow aisles and clothes that show effects of shopping/rack damage. I avoid it during high traffic hours and holidays. But hey, the discounts are good if they happen to have it in your size. |

It was also mentioned that they're actively seeking a new location in the same area.

Actually, I think the sore is called "Forever 21", and it's the same store that displaced the iconic landmark Tower Records in Times Square last year. End of an Era |
