Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

After the GSA fiasco, Bn appears to have cut off coupons to some of the bookstore links. This is the first time they don't seem to work on the library and military link for me.
I wish people would think twice about posting deals from here on slickdeals or fatwallet. As this always draws alot of unwanted attention. It often kills other deals as well. Recently I've noticed many more of dvdtalks deals being taken to slickdeals and fatwallet and it is a big negative.

I was in the Nashua, NH store Saturday and they had fliers for the B2G1 sale--says Sale valid June 8th-July 5th, see BN.COM/DVDsale (although there is no sale on that page yet)

B&N changed it soon after all the orders were placed on Monday with 20% GSA coupon that was supposed to expire the previous evening. You probably can thank slick deals and fatwallet for killing it.

The link is useless now anyway. At some point over the last 48 hours they made it so you can't use any coupons on top of the GSA site discount.

The AAA link does allow coupons to stack, correct?

Do any of these bookstore links stack with coupons now? I tried the NASA and Library ones and the 15% off coupon didn't work.

I believe the member coupons work, but the non-member ones do not. I assume you are not a member? The 20% new account coupon works as well...

Even before the GSA fiasco I noticed B&N has slowly started preventing some coupons from working at the bookstore links beginning in early May. I have a feeling they may eventually start limiting a lot of them to only B&N.com, while issuing a few coupons that work specifically with selected bookstore links like GSA, Library, and others. There are several coupons on the coupon list now that will work with only a certain link. Think this was planned before the GSA coupon got out of hand last week.

If it is like past sales I expect it to quietly come to life sometime tomorrow afternoon online. Probably could have a few good hours of bargains before they start ending sales and raising prices before it officially starts on the 8th.

You should at least be able to use the AAA 15% coupon. Not sure what other coupons on the list may work.

Last time I checked I was not getting any of the 15% and 10% coupons to work at the NASA link, but was getting the 15% member coupons and several of the 10% non-member coupons to work at the Library link.

I am, but B&N is sending me a new member number so my account has no membership right now. I'm afraid if I use a bookstore link discount, they won't stack a member coupon for me if I contact them.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Here are the 10% codes that I can get to work at the Library link. All the other coupons are coming up not eligible on the non-member list. Think these will work at most other links on the list except for NASA. Seems B&N made it useless for coupons now.

T8M7A4R

If you want to use the non-member 15% coupons may want to use Bing for 8% cashback instead.

I placed my first order a few days ago through NASA but it wouldn't let me use any of the coupon codes for non-members including the new account one. Went ahead and ordered anyway since $18.41 for the seven-volume TENNESSEE WILLIAMS dvd set is an astonishing price and didn't want this price to jump up if I waited a few days. (I did qualify for "free postage" but I ordered another movie anyway which brought it over $25.)

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Many prices on the website have already started to change. Many of the in stock/already released Top 100 titles have been switched from 40% off to 30% off. Titles on the fringe of the Top 100 and down to at least 500 have gone from 25% off to 20% off.

Still, good deals are to be had with the B2G1F sale if you group items appropriately and use a bookstore link and a coupon code -- I have my list sitting by the computer!

Here are links to sales that are still active. Think these may end tonight and the links may get hard to find later. If the B2G1F sale starts later good chance these may be available for a few hours.

Thanks, Laser. Perhaps tonight I'll actually remember to see if the sale goes active early. Could be some great deals to be had. I bought SOOO much recently with the 40% off prices, and GSA link w/coupon. I need to take a break soon... I wonder if I'll ever have time to watch all the stuff I bought...

I've given up ever having enough time to watch all the DVDs I have purchased. I have sealed DVDs purchased years ago still waiting to open and watch. It doesn't help that I keep buying more every month.

What time has it gone live in the past? Late at night? Mid-Afternoon? I've been checking it every couple hours today and haven't seen anything yet...

Usually they start them in the afternoon. I don't know the exact time but look for it to possibly go active around noon today California time.

You and me both, brother... Even crazier, I actually UPGRADE some of my unwatched DVD's to BD's! It's a baaaad habit...

I think 5 of the first 6 DVDs I ever purchased, a Columbia House order from early 2002, are still sealed. Beat that.

I still haven't opened a couple of my bundled with the player DVDs from 1998.

Historically, I was able to get it to stack with pretty much all non-member coupons during the Criterion sale. (I'm not a B&N member so I didn't use the member coupons).

I assume, as mentioned above, that the dedicated 15% off coupon currently available will stack, but whether any others will these days...I don't know. I haven't tried it.

I definitely have many sealed ones from way before 2002--I jumped on DVD's pretty much right when they first came out, and many are sealed still (back in the days of reel.com and 800.com). But 5 of the "FIRST 6 you ever purchased" is pretty terrible. I don't think my percentage is THAT bad...

Let me guess. Would that be Stepmom and Lost in Space?

I feel like I'm amongst friends at DVD-aholics anonymous here. I have many of the same mentioned issues. The not opening DVDs can really be rewarding when upgrading to Blu-Ray and trying to dump the DVD version on eBay though. :) Although it does indicate a higher probability that the Blu-Ray will also remain unopened for quite some time....

I remember getting Lost in Space, Sphere and some lame movie with one of the guy from "Friends". I don't recall what else I got...
