I ran across this upcoming offer that may be of interest to anyone wanting to purchase a Nook.

Purchase a NOOK™ at participating Barnes & Noble retail stores or online at www.bn.com (EAN: 9781400599998), and receive a $50.00 Barnes & Noble Gift Card, while supplies last. This promotion is valid from June 2, 2010 through July 3, 2010. This offer is only valid for purchases made at Barnes & Noble retail book stores where NOOK is sold and for orders placed on www.bn.com. Does NOOK stand for "Not a great way to read a bOOK"? ;)

Personally, I see no reason for a Kindle or Nook anymore. iPad is the way to go, if you want an electronic book reader...

I find it funny that B&N has a free iPad book reader with a tag line that reads "Better than Kindle, and better than iBooks!" It really should say "Better than Kindle, and better than Nook." Kindle and Nook are basically the same thing, so it's kinda hard to insult the competitor's product without insulting your own!

I think the tag line is referring the the three apps for the iPad. It's saying that the B&N app is better than the Kindle app or the Apple app (iBooks) for reading electronic books on the iPad.

Just what I have been waiting for. Now have all 3 volumes locked in at that price. Thanks for the update on the price reductions.

How do you get them for $21.35+tax each? I'm getting $24.02+tax

I'm assuming they have to be ordered seperately with different accounts?

That's the price using the GSA link combined with the 20% coupon. Yes you would need multiple accounts or email addresses to use the coupon multiple times since it is only valid one time per account. You can checkout as a guest without creating a extra account. However if you create a new account I would recommend using the 20% new account coupon first. Then you can make another purchase with the 20% GSA coupon on the second order.

Edit to add:
It's possible these might even be cheaper on Monday if the B2G1F sale starts. I called a local B&N store and they told me the sale is supposed to start next week and run through June. However it's a risk the price may increase by then.

My orders are listed as shipping in mid June so if the B2G1F happens can't I cancel those orders and re-order with the B2G1F offer?

Yes you could cancel if it is not in stock or enters the shipping phase. At the moment the shipping estimate is 1 to 2 weeks. It's probably safe it won't ship before Monday. It's hard to guess how long they will stay at 40% though. I think it is a good idea to order it now to lock it in at the current prices to be safe in case it goes back up.

CE3K 30th Anniversary 3-DVD is currently $9.99 before discounts. With GSA link and current coupon should be less than $8.00 exclusive of tax.

Price is on DVD version only, not Blu-ray.

Just a reminder today is supposed to be the last day for the 20% GSA coupon.

I have used that coupon way to much, so I'll be sad to see it go. I bought Red Cliff, Django, Stagecoach, Walkabout, M, and Doctor Zhivago all with that coupon. Doesn't the coupon technically end at like 1 or 2 am tonight? If that's the case then I'll likely order Life (RA) BD at 12am once it stops being listed as just a pre-order. I think it would be around $28 unless they raise the price at midnight.

I actually got M two times using this deal as well. The first one they sent me came with a cracked case so I emailed them about that and they said they were just going to send me another one at no extra charge.

It's supposed to expire at 2:59 am eastern time tonight. I'm hoping to get in one last order for LIfe on Blu tonight before the coupon expires. Since it is currently at a pre-order price it will probably go up a little before the coupon works, but if it goes to 40% off list you still should get it for about $29 before tax.

Cool, that's what I'm hoping for. If I can get it for under $30 I'll be ordering it for sure.

Unless I forget to order it in time.

I shouldn't even ask, but do any of you know of any other really good deals using the GSA discounts before that deal is dead?

How about the Genesis 1970-75 CD/DVD box set, currently on sale for $84 and then around $60 after the discount.

Yeah, I'm putting my order in right now as well. I do think it's rotten how they put exclusive extras on the stupid Oprah version though.

Probably the only way they can get anyone to buy it.

A couple of more to consider before the coupon expires (prices include discounts before tax). I'm hoping the Three Stooges collection can make it to 40% off soon. Might get a better deal waiting even if you have to use a 15% coupon.

Kelly's Heroes & Where Eagles Dare $13.34

Three Stooges Collection: 1955-1959 $13.34

Just placed my order for Life as well, thanks for the reminder guys.

What are the exclusives on the Oprah set?

The Amazon reviews are pretty funny. The Oprah version has 128 one-star reviews.
