Looking forward to the next round, I just bought a B&N Gift Card with my Sony points, getting anxious to pick a few things up...:)

Can someone tell me if Criterion makes a practice of releasing their DVD titles at a later date as Blu-rays? If they do convert is there any way to tell which ones are next up? There are a lot of DVD titles I'd like to buy, but as blu-rays.

As I understand it, they are working on upgrading some of their older titles to Blu-ray - and sometimes updated DVDs - but there's no obvious method or pattern. Also, they may no longer have the rights to (re-)release some previously issued titles, so there's never any guarantee.

You need the Sony Card to earn Sony points. I've had mine for years, got alot of good stuff with points over the years: game console/games, speakers, DVD/VHS combo player (since replaced), B&N Gift Cards, DVDs/BDs, etc.

Is B&N going back to generic coupons? I found three new coupons that are not active yet, but have posted them on the first page. Looks like these are not unique codes and can be used all customers. However one of them is for B&N members.

It certainly looks like it, and I certainly hope so...

Probably won't be permanent, but it is getting to be late in the year, and B&N probably has terrible revenue for 2013, so they are trying to do something about it. Too late, B&N, too late! You'll be closing more stores before you know it!

Revenue? It's not what you make, it's what you keep (profits) that matter. So, what's the point you're trying to make? That somehow having generic discounts all over the web (and then accepting them in stores) was the missing secret sauce that is going to save B&N? Get real.

You quibble over my choice of words, but they won't have any PROFIT if they don't have REVENUE. You can't make profit without revenue.

My point is that with their standard RETAIL pricing, many people do not shop there unless they have a coupon. I know several people that stopped shopping there because they stopped getting coupons, or stopped giving member discounts online. Coupons are an incentive to get people into your store. So yes, I do believe they have lost business by taking away the coupons and discounts. There's a reason Borders went under. B&N will eventually follow suit. They can't compete with Amazon. B&N has become more like a library. I see people sitting in there reading books, instead of buying them. I see groups of children hanging out in there, doing homework. Book stores just aren't profitable anymore. I'm not saying I want them to fail, but I'm quite confident they will.

Laser Movies, how do you use this/these (20%/15% coupons) in-store? Write the store coupon number down and take it with you to the store? Is there a link to this sale terms page I can print and take with me? Don't know how much luck I'll have with the sales clerk just writing the number down on a piece of paper.

According to what I'm reading, we can use these once online ~and~ once in-store. I've already used the 20% coupon once online but I'd like to use it in-store too. Probably do the same with the 15% off coupon...

I added a link for the coupon information on the first page. There should be an actual store coupon around but I was not able to find a printable version online. I'll try again later this morning. I don't know if a store will accept the the coupon number if you show them at a store. Those store coupons would work on multiple visits since they are a generic coupon. However I do have a member 20% and some 15% printable store coupons you can have if you need one. They have unique codes that can be used only once.

I'd love to have them (20%'s are better but 15's are OK too), thanks Laser Movies!

Sent you a PM with some links for a couple of 15% store coupons. Didn't have any luck finding any printable versions of the coupons on the first page. If you have a smartphone you could try showing the coupon information with the store code to see if they would accept it. If they enter the number manually it should apply the discount. However it might be a huge ymmv depending on the store if they would allow it. However the coupons I sent should probably present less problems.

If anyone has a spare coupon (or two), I would be very grateful! Yet again, they've left me off their list of e-mails...
