x .90 member discount
$21.59
x .80 coupon
$17.27

not too shabby.....

It's probably already live since the online codes were already active yesterday. I read a post at another forum the 20% printable coupon worked fine today with the 40% sale at a store, but a member coupon with a unique code sent in the mail wouldn't scan. The generic store coupons look like the best way to go with the blu-ray sale. The online sale is ruined because of the coupon restrictions that were put in place.

Also don't forget there is supposed to be a b2g1f Criterion blu-ray sale starting after this sale. Probably the prices will be high on most titles but maybe a few good deals might be found depending on the price mark down.

Quadrophenia Blu-ray is the Deal of the Day at Deep Discount: 19.99 shipped (unless you have to pay tax).

I'm sorry if this has been answered before, but does Barnes & Noble accept manufacturers or publishers coupons?

No! They just accept the coupons they issue.

I asked this question of a B&N employee and was told they do accept manufacturers coupons but no one knew it and thus no one ever tried. I'll admit I've never tried either.

Do those coupons a few posts back need to be printed or can I show them on my iphone?

They need to be scanned. Not sure if they can scan the bar code on your phone like they do at Starbucks, but you could always ask....

I was able to use both the 20% off and 15% off static coupons (ones with the numbers that stay the same) in store yesterday. Even though they shouldn't have been activated until August 30. They are definitely in the system.

Got Sixteen Candles and The Story of Wish You Were Here for $18 and change.

As far as manufacturers or vendor coupons are concerned, I was able to use the Universal $3 off coupon at my local store. The cashier had to call over a manager to figure it out, but they did and found the procedure for vendor coupons was written out and taped to the their desk. I know of others who had success and others who were turned down so it appears it's YMMV. That said, it also appears that vendor coupons are not at all against store policy.

Picked up Quadrephenia today.

Got it for 17.29 with the 20% coupon that starts tomorrow.
Had my 5/15 buzz ready but didn't want to push it.

Finally got Rocketeer BD for 12.77 with 20 percent off... Disney has stubbornly kept the price up on it.

Picked up Headhunters for under $14 with the 20% off coupon. Also picked up Death Watch for $8.58 with the 15% off coupon. Consider that Shout Factory releases don't go on sale often, I'm pretty happy I got Death Watch at that price.

Does anyone have the latest $5 off $15 buzz code? If so, what does the entire text message say?

What about the $5 off $15? Did you get a code for that?

Anyone finding a deal the coupon will work on online? They seem to have restrictions on everything.

Tried using the 20% off members coupon online and the 15% off coupon online for blu-rays, and both aren't working. But once I added a book, they both clicked on. So... is this only happening to me?!

There are online coupon restrictions for the 40% off blu-ray titles. Most likely the discount you're seeing is getting applied to the book because there are no coupon restrictions on the book. The only way to get around it is to go to a store and use one of the generic coupons that are available.

Was at BN today and got the Dragon Tattoo Extended Trilogy and Sherlock S2 (both BDs) with the $8 off $40 or more, 20% coupon, and $5 off $50.

The manager also volunteered (she knows I buy a lot of Criterions) that the Criterion Buy 2 Get 1 Free is starting next Tuesday (September 4) and will last about a month (through October 1). They already got the signs about this and this is what she looked at to confirm it. Hopefully, they'll have some good deals online.

Meh. Buy 2 Get 1 Free isn't nearly as good as 50% off. I hope that them doing this now doesn't interfere with the November sale. Since it's coming so close off of the July sale I'm going to just assume for now that it won't and wait...
