Did the B2G1 sale end at 3 the last time around?

I went back through the thread and it looks like it did end at 11:59 ET during the January sale according to the details. However the previous year it ended at 2:59 ET with the June sale. So the time change is new for this year.

Hmm so I'd say the odds of them overlapping are probably pretty slim. Unless someone on their side sleeps on it and forgets to switch off one sale before turning on the other.

Anyone know how returns work with B2G1 at B&N? I made multiple orders of three CDs each, and then realized that I already own one of the CDs. It's not listed as the free one on the invoice. Will B&N let me return it for credit? I'd gladly exchange for a CD at the same price, but the problem is the store prices are so much higher than online.

If the sale is still on they might let you return 1 for another. I think they can look up your order online so they will know if it is the free one. I always tried once the sale was over and they made me return all 3. You could sell it yourself or trade to amazon if this is the case.

I had the same problem once when the B2G1F sale overlapped with the Criterion sale. I tried a couple times and eventually found a willing clerk who let me return/exchange for another same priced DVD. If you can find something else in the store at the same price, then it can probably be accomplished. If not, then it's a total return of the entire order.

I was going to open a new membership (mine expired a year or two ago) to take advantage of the coupons, will I be unable to use the coupons since it is after June 26th and there appear to be no new coupons coming that would cover the current enrollment period?

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

There are always coupons in the process of being released but it does seem weird that no news has been mentioned of upcoming releases. They usually terminate and one is immediately available for new use. You should be fine to use any new coupon offers as the clerks in store have never questioned me about my enrollment/sign up dates qualifying for the coupons.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I've been refused a coupon once when a clerk looked up my membership join date and correctly denied me use of it, I guess I was wondering if this has become more common practice or if their computers have been properly programmed to check against the join date and disallow the coupon in store.

Since I have not had a membership in over 6 months I don't know if the coupon has any new program changes to reject it based on the join date. However the coupons have always been a huge ymmv at stores. Also the last coupon has undergone a major revision for at least the online version, and would assume it may effect the store coupons. Previous coupons would stack online when all offers were combined. Now each requires using a different coupon code. I would assume it may mean the $5 off $50 store coupon may no longer automatically stack with other coupons at stores. When the Criterion sale begins next week we may discover there are more limitations with these coupons compared to past sales.

Some new coupons are coming soon. If you have a membership you may see some new coupons in the mail during July.

Do you think they are permanently phasing out the 8 off and 5 off 50 coupons after the current set, or are they waiting for the criterion sale to end before issuing another one (so there aren't two versions out there for people to use on the same transaction)?

It doesn't appear they are phasing them out yet. Another set is coming in the near future. My concern is if they transition them into unique codes like they have with a lot of coupons. That would eliminate most B&N members from using them since you would have to get a valid coupon code sent directly to your email address.

Thanks for all the updates, Laser.

Here's hoping we get another batch of coupons, although I'll be ordering most if not all of my haul for the Criterion sale during the initial overlap with the B2G1.

I checked the OP and didn't see anything - will there be any coupons (e.g. 15% off or something similar) to use online for that time?

Did anyone get one yet? They were supposed to go live today. I'd really appreciate a member coupon if anyone has an extra. Thanks! ;)

Yes, that's about what I remember (and am hoping for again this year) too.

I try to hold off on British TV stuff until their 50% sale. But sometimes they don't have what I'm interested in in stock so I try to prepare ahead of time and have them order what I want into the store a few days before the sale starts. It usually only takes 2-3 days for stuff to arrive at my store. I think I did that with Tinker, Tailor last year.
