I would definitely recommend picking up Jericho Season 2 as well. It gets released on June 17th and as the price stands with the 20% taken off it'll cost $18.83.

The one set I was planning on getting jumped from 27 to 31, but everything else has stayed the same. It seems like every sale prices go down as well as up, so I'm not too concerned.

I wonder if some of these price hikes are just the normal ups and downs of prices at DD. If you monitor a lot of DVDs over a period of time, they jump up and down all the time. For example DVD Planet had a Vincent Price collection for 14.59 (I think it's still that price). DD had it for 29.xx, then 19.xx now 29.xx. So it may not be because of the sale.

Then again I could be wrong.

I've been working up a 'to buy' list off line for a few weeks now to help me budget for the sale and the one Warner title I had on it went from $12.71 to $13.83- effectively making the sale (in this one case) a 10% off sale.
Not really upset about it as the point of the sale for me is still to get these things at the lowest cost I can, and this still is the lowest price I've found on it.
I just hope DVD Planet mirrors the sale, as last November they averaged much better prices on the majority of thing I ordered.
Right now I'm looking to budget $250 for the sale- all of it already set aside from ebay auctions in the last few weeks. It feels great to have the bill for the sale essentially already paid for.

Well, none of my titles that I've been watching for the past week or so have changed in price at either DD or DVDPlanet.

Not worth it in my books, the season was cut short.

If you've yet to buy either Season 1 or 2, You should buy the S1/S2 set. It's cheaper, plus it comes with a bonus disc that's not included in either S1 or S2 set.

That's precisely the case. every sale a few people bitch and moan but anyone who pays any attention at all to DDD knows that their prices are constantly fluctuating with sales and according to other retailers. they raise their prices in response to others doing the same....the conspiracy theory over this is very very tired and very very silly.

$39.46 after 20% if they don't raise it. I agree with Pilot about getting the COMPLETE SERIES since $12-$14 more isn't bad. Also I prefer the cover pic to this set better than the seperate ones.

We kept track of this over a few sales in the store forum in a thread called the Deepdiscount audit or something. As many went up as went down, and the same number of sets went up in the sale week as any otehr week. Most of the sets that went up right at the start of the sale were on sale the previous week.

oh yeah. I have been holding off on dvds for the past months in anticipation of this. I am thinking I will focus on Doctor Who, last time it was mostly CC, one before that was tv.

ATTENTION PEOPLE: Stop announcing that prices went up. Numerous sales are ending as of yesterday and today and there's a very good chance that it may be the reason why. (edited by pilot - use the thread below post to discuss increases and decreases if you wish)

Some people never seem to realize that the best prices on some titles at DD occur during their regular sales not the semi-annual 20% off. If the price/discount is nice then jump on the deal no matter when it is because if you're waiting for the 20% sale you MAY pay more!

I've started a thread in the store forum for anyone interested in discussing questionable pre-20% off "sale" price increases at DD.

Great. This thread is still not the place to discuss that.

Well, then there isn't really anything to discuss here then since the sale doesn't even start for several days. Close it up

any other CDN's still planning on this sale? since that jacked up their shipping prices to near insane levels.

I am planning a smaller order, only if its cheaper then on amazon. since on amazon I don't get hit with customs. With DD its almost a guarantee to get hit.
