Blockbuster 3 for $20 on pre-viewed HD DVDs (YMMV)

Blockbuster at Westpark, Irvine CA had their last HD DVDs on sale, 3 for $20. Titles I've seen include:

Disturbia
Flags of our Father
Norbit
U2
Blades of Glory
Syriana
Grand Prix
Cinderella Man

I thought Blockbuster didn't carry HD-DVD to rent, so why are they selling them used? Weren't they Blu-Ray exclusive?

Quite a few blockbuster stores rented hd-dvds before they decided to go exclusive with Blu. 2 of 5 bbs around our place had hd-dvds, while the rest never carried the same.
