that EXACT same page has been up when you search "steelbook" for like the last 6 months. i dunno why. you'd think they'd change it and add some of their new exclusive steelbooks to the list or something.
but i think someone posted a while back that ALL steelbooks are now $14.99, or like 80% of them excluding the recent "i am legend" steelbook and some others

I love how it saids $16.99 Steelbook DVD Sale but when you look at the our prices for the four DVDs, none are $16.99 - we have three at $14.99 and one at $19.99. Also it saids a $3 savings on each DVD and only one of them is actually $3 off. LOL!

Haha, I was just thinking the other day as I was cataloging my collection how many "limited edition foil covers" I have. But they ARE quite shiny...

I'm also a defensive comic book fan who got burned by my obsessive "investments" in the early 90's.
But considering this is a forum where people search through stores to get perfect slipcovers on their dvds, I don't see liking steelbooks as a big deal.

BENEFITS OF STEELBOOKS:
1. Take up less shelf space (the difference may be slight, but stack a dozen steelbooks next to a dozen keep cases).
2. Simpler access to DVDs than most foldout "Special Editions" (ie: Fight Club), you don't have to unfold several times.
3. Provide better defense against fire and artillery. Join together 4 Robocops and you have yourself a breastplate.
"I'd buy THAT for a dollar!"
