Went out yesterday with not the highest of expectations. Thought I'd see if the stores around here had any of the bargains posted by everyone.

FYE (our store is very small) had the Geneon Sale going. To my surprise, they had the titles I wanted (Shana, Kara Maoh, Elemental....etc.) and then some. That was great.

Then it was off to Best Buy....they had "multiple" copies of the Funimation titles on sales...such as Basilisk, Trinity Blood, Tsubasa.

Found everything I wanted....how often does that happen???

Then topped it off with a small Bandai order from RS. Only problem now is finding the time to watch everything.

Does anyone know what the difference between Blue Submarine No. 6 Complete Collection (Anime Legends) and the Special Edition is? and which one is more recommended over the other?

Well, I have the Anime Legends version, the DVDs are two sided, by that I mean you watch one side, and then you have to flip the DVD over to watch the next part, etc. I really hate those types of DVDs, but I got it for like $10 so for that price it's okay. I'd be willing to bet the other collection has the one sided releases, but I'm not certain. If it's only a few dollars more, I'd go with the non Anime Legends set.

They are the same release disc wise.
Only difference I can tell is a plastic slipcover the SE had and the Anime Legends one has slight different cover art.
Though I have seen some of the SE come without the slipcover to.

The Special Edition also has the 2 two sided disc and the third extra disc is one sided.

Seriously? Bah, just get the Anime Legends set then, it's quite a bit cheaper last time I compared.

And I still can never figure out why WTK only posts one or two of these "Shawne's Deal of the Day" when he has access to all 10. They're always posted on animeondvd.com. It doesn't quite make sense why all 10 isn't posted here on dvdtalk.com

The deal of the days can be found daily here:

I only posted selected "deal" that I see fit for this thread. Most of the "deals" are usually average at best, so I filter out certain parts if necessary. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but this is how I chose to run the anime bargain threads here @ DVDTalk.

I'm sure that they will take out the free S/H if your order is under the $25 threshold. It will be a dumb move for them if they don't do that.

You can always let the order go through and return it to a B&M. I've returned online orders to an FYE B&M in the past(you should check with your local store to see if they still do this).

Spent another $54 at FYE and got Fate/Stay vols 1,2 &4 a well as the Tenchi movie collection. I'll probably nhit it one more time to try to snag vol's 3 and 6 to finish that series.

Then I'll just need to pick up Zipang, Strawberry Marshmallow, and Kami-chu in the next few months and I'll pretty much be finished up on what I want from Geneon.

I'm hoping by the end of this summer we'll know if they have another distributor or not for thei titles.

Hehe, Strawberry Marshmallow... At first I thought it was some cheesy anime for younger viewers - till my friend pushed me to watch it. It's much different than I originally thought. Miu's strange behavior always made me laugh - I kept chuckles aloud whenever I thought about it.

Great choice, Ackbar!

Everyone talking about the deals they get at Transworld stores. I makes me sad my nearest one is an hour away.

Oh, and if anyone is worried about ordering the Someday's Dreamers vol 1 from buyriteDVD and not getting the box, I took the chance and I did indeed get the box with volume 1. Perhaps YMMV, but it's a good bet all the vol 1s include the box.
