Was able to use the $20 off 3 Bluray...it didn't scan right...and a CSR had to do it and I think it was because they were busy and she wanted me gone, lol. No Corpse bride which bummed me out, but I got Training Day, Goodfellas, and Beerfest for like $26. Thanks

Hey, speedy1961, when do you usually get around to posting ads of upcoming weeks? I want to know if I should get a Blu-Ray player this week or next. Thanks.

It's unbelievable! I mean, I have HD and I don't see any sales going on! Can you really beat 10 free movies (5 which you can pick ANY movies?!) AND a BOGO in Toys R Us for Pirates 1, 2, 3 and some other great ones at $24.99?! I just hate this feeling. If these Blue Ray sales can go this low, I bet waiting next year to buy Blue Ray will go much lower (I just HOPE that might happen). Any suggestions what I do?
Best Buy has the same titles on sale in BR and HD-DVD this week... Amazon regularly runs HD-DVD sales. If you want a BR system, by all means get one. But it is silly to say that BR is currently cheaper than HD-DVD.

To stay mildly on topic:

Scanner Darkly (BR) - $14.99
Corpse Bride (BR) - $14.99
Lost S. 3 (BR) $64.87 (price match to wal-mart via walmart.com printout) - $20 (RewardZone $20 off 3 BR movies)
---------
~$75+tax at BestBuy

Picked up Training Day, Lethal Weapon, and A Scanner Darkly for $26.72 using the $20 off three Blu-ray coupon. Coupon didn't work so a manager had to come over and she took $10 off of two of the movies.

I'll be picking up Blood Diamond on Blu tomorrow. That is, if they have it in stock.

From Speedy1961 other thread:

Folks, please be aware that for health reasons I will be taking a two week break from posting and all forms of work starting January 4th,2008. This break will remove me from the state in which I reside and into an atmosphere more conducive to my rebuilding both my mental and physical state (both of which are at all-time lows at this point in time). I expect to resume full posting duties on January 18th, 2008 barring any new job offers or positions which may come my way.

I will attempt to do as much as I can before that time but for the first time in 3 years there will a hard and fast break in the flow of information that I provide and it will be one NOT caused by the overlords at Circuit City.

It is really starting to piss me off!

I hear you. What I've seen done before was those price stickers would be placed over the top of a clear sticker that comes off very easy. Why they don't do that for all of them, I don't know.

yeah, i had a couple like those. those were awesome, but i guess too easy to take off from a theif's standpoint or something like that. all i know is it sucks and ruins an otherwise nice slipcase, which i like.

Picked up 3:10 to Yuma on Blu-ray and notice the shelf tag that said "$5 DVD with purchase of any version of 3:10 to Yuma. Choose from American Psycho, Lonesome Dove, Young Guns. [and then in fine print] (Blue-ray, WideScreen, FullScreen)". My wife said she saw American Psycho in the BR section, so we got a copy. At the cash register it rang up as $24.99 and I told about the tag to the cashier. He went up to the shelf to check it with me, came back, changed the price of American Psycho to $5 with the manager's approval. Not sure that I was supposed to get the BR version of American Psycho, but the shelf tag is really ambiguous, might be worth trying this for other people.

SHOCKED! I was able to use the 20 off 3 bluray coupon on the Spider-man trilogy box. The manager that shoots me down every time I try and price match actually allowed the override! YMMV, but its worth a shot

Found a buried copy of the Rambo Trilogy with the movie cash too.

Blucadet3 - you had to manually get them to accept it, correct? It didn't accept your coupon automatically?

It is really hard to win against the computer at my store, so I don't want to make a trip unless is actually scans succesfuly.

Yeah they manually did it. I just asked the cashier if she thought it would work, and she said she thought it should. It didn't and she called for an override. She explained to the mngr that it was 3 bluray movies and it cost the same as three movies. Also, the fact that these movies are not available separately may have helped sway the mngr.

I usually get shot down, but its worth asking. The coupon does not say anything about excluding boxed sets and it doesn't say three sku's or anything. So its really up to the mngr on the boxed sets.

Perhaps a dumb question....if I buy the 42" HDTV and get the free BR DVD player, does that also qualify for the 5 free BR DVDs in-store, or ONLY the 5 mail-in discs?
