Went back tonight to try again..for Harry Potter and this is what shown
and also used my $5 RZ cert.

HP4.. $29.99 ($27.26)
HP3 ..$24.99 ($22.72)
HP2 ..$24.99 (free)

Paid..49.98 + 4.02 (tax) = $54.00

Then.. after I got home, my bro told me that HP4 is suppose to be only $24.99 (online).

Damn it! Silly me.. I could have order line for in store pickup and save my $5 RZ cert for something else.

Since BestBuy is just only two of blocks away from my apartment.. I wonder if I return it and rebuy via web.. does BestBuy return RZ cert if it already been applied to purchase?

No, they might price adjust it accordingly, but they won't return the certificate, only with an outright return (and then, you have to wait till its mailed back out)

I got pan's, eastern, and kingdom.

Eastern wasn't in the normal section. It was only in the new release. I asked about pan's they checked and saw it was in stock. Then the guy said he couldn't find it so I couldn't get it. So I told him no problem that I would just go to a kiosk and order online and when they didn't have it I'd get a 10 gift card. He then told me to hold on and he'd talk to someone else. They found it in a box in the back that said not to release until the 26th. I understand why the first guy didn't find it, but geesh, it was 8:30am and the store wasn't very busy. I thought the guy gave up way too easily. Pans ran up for 35. I corrected the guy and he adjusted the price. I was also able to use a 5 rz discount and 10% off discount. Everything was under 60 out the door. Pretty decent especially since I have to pay sales tax for amazon anyways.

Hey everybody... Went the the BB in Deerfield, IL tonight... wanted to get The Kingdom, Eastern Promises and Pan's Labyrinth... they only had The Kingdom (Eastern Promises was showing in their system, but they couldn't find). I am going to try the store in Libertyville tom for those 3 titles but I have a question, What is the deal with this $10 giftcard everyone is saying they are getting from on-line?

The deal is if you order BY DECEMBER 24th ONLINE (3PM) and chose in-store pickup AND they don't have your order ready in 1 minute or less, you get $10 off.

I Got The Kingdom, Eastern Promises and Breach. Wanted the first two, and had a little trouble picking a third. Didn't have Breach, and liked a lot in the theatre, so looking forward to seeing it again.

Wasn't to sure about a blind buy on Balls of Fury or Heartbreak Kid so I steered clear.

IMO, The Kingdom and Eastern Promises would be good but no sure about Breach, Balls of Fury or Heartbreak Kid.. the latter 3 wouldn't much replay value nor it really shines in HD.

Btw, all Harry Potter series would be good buy for HD.

No problems for me here in Richmond, VA getting all titles included as part of the deal (despite the silly yellow sign listing only the ones shown in the ad as examples)....other than the fact that most stores don't seem to carry but about a third to half at most of the 400+ released titles....
Oh yeah, and you can't use the "check store inventory" since it will only show as available at a store if they have more than three copies, which chances are they don't have unless it's a fairly new big title (Bourne, Shrek, etc.)....most catalog titles seem to be three or less at my local stores, meaning you have to go to multiple stores if you're looking for something specific...wasn't a problem for me today since my six-month old has a minor ear infection and wouldn't nap at home so I spent the afternoon going to five BBs looking for various discs while he slept from the driving trips!
So far my take is:

2001
Notting Hill
Erin Brockovich

and

The Thing
Aeon Flux
The Untouchables

Only found the last two at the final store....would have ordered them online with the free shipping from their site if I hadn't....

I got Eastern Promises, Pan's Labyrinth and The Kingdom. None of them were in the proper HD-DVD section. Pan's and Eastern were both in the New Release section. Kingdom was on an endcap. I wanted to get Blade Runner, but they were out of stock according to their computer.

Picked up Blade Runner, superman the movie and superman 2 the donner cut for for around 64 bucks. Not that bad of a deal since I missed out on the deepdiscount sale ( for the two supermans). Went back later and got 2001, the shinning and willy wonka for 50 bucks.

Picked up Pan's Labyrinth, Stardust and Black Snake Moan. I forgot all about Eastern Promises! It wasn't in the HDDVD section, so I didn't see it. I happened to see Stardust in the new release section so I found that one.

Had no issues with the deal.

I picked up Harry Potter 1,2 and 3 in one order and Hot Rod, Old School and Shining in another and the discount worked fine both times.

Pan's was on the shelf at the Best Buy I was at. Not sure what the street date is supposed to be.

I think its Dec 26th, but since its not a day/date title and some hd-dvds were released on Dec 23, I bet they put it out early.

My Best Buy still had Pan's Labyrinth in the back but all of the other releases were on the shelf. I talked them into bringing them out early and snagged a copy of it on Blu-Ray. They were going to wait until the 26th to shelf it but I'm glad I could change this particular csr's mind.

Tell the manager you want to talk to them. The ad plainly states IN ENGLISH B2G1 EXCEPT TV and Box sets. That does NOT equal select titles..

Sweet Baby James, it is still the same deal. Two buy 2 for $30 and getting one free will make the DVDs cost about $20 each. Buy 3 for $30 and getting two free will make the 5 DVDs still $20 each...so it's still isn't different. I don't think this deal is good. I don't want to spend more than $20 on HD DVDs. If only the buy one go one free deal applied to all HD-DVDs...

I went to a different Best Buy today... found a copy of Pan's Labyrinth and The Kingdom on HD-DVD... no Eastern Promises. I asked a employee (reluctantly) if they had any in the back... he looked in the computer and said they don't even have Eastern Promises on HD-DVD in their system (even though it is in the AD!!!!). I said thanks, handed him Pan's Labyrinth and The Kingdom, and walked out of the store... what a bunch of morons! If that Buy 3, Get 2 Promo is real... I am glad I held out.

Buy 3 Get 2 Free is slightly better:

(2 X $30) / 3 = $20

(3 X $30) / 5 = $18

There are a number of $24.99 HD-DVDs at Best Buy that I've been considering; the B3G2 is even nicer in this case, averaging only $14.99 per movie.

It's about 6.67% better (B3G2F over B2G1F) for like-priced items.
