I got to my local Target about 1 PM and only saw three copies of Heroes. Of course YMMV at your Target. You might think about calling to see if they will put one aside for you. Good luck.

Picked up Heroes S1, Sex and the city S2,5 & 6 part 2 during lunch break. Couldn't get S6 Part 1 though, despite driving to 2 different target stores. Will try a couple of other targets later in the evening.

Snowmaker 12-26-07 03:44 PM

Not sure if it was mentioned, but ALL the Entourage sets were $14.99.

My target had about 10 copies each of Heroes and the Office S3 but only 1 copy of Dexter. So definitely YMMV

You should have asked someone. Dexter was empty on the rack...so I asked and the employee went to the back and grabbed several copies to put on the rack and handed me one. There were about 6 copies of Heroes at the store I visited...I didn't see one with the exclusive Target DVD though.

JAYARE 12-26-07 05:06 PM

is the target exclusive the same price?

xfusejc 12-26-07 05:11 PM

I walked through the isles after I picked up the sets I was going to buy (Heroes, The Office S3) and pretty much everything was on sale.

South Park, Charmed, Gilmore Girls, Golden Girls, Smallville.

Again, I recommend you go and look around.

BKenn01 12-26-07 05:22 PM

Typical Target loss leader. Have 10 or less copies in the store. Our Target was already cleaned out on Heroes and most titles.

not really a big deal, as they give rainchecks that are valid for ninety days.

Michael Corvin 12-26-07 06:11 PM

Picked up Entourage 3.2 for $15.

Thanks speedy!

Tolhurst 12-26-07 06:19 PM

I actually prefer the raincheck so I can get it later

Of course, Target was sold out, so they wouldn't do the price-match.

As I said, this may all be a moot point, but I'd hate for someone to pay big bucks for an item thinking they would pm and then get stuck with the item. Of course, I guess they could always just return the unopened item for a refund of the original purchase price.

definately YMMV on the BB calling target. I do PMs at best buy almost every week and they've never called the store to verify the stock. But then, there must be like 10 targets in the denver area and I'm a regular face. If they refuse because target's out, just return the DVDs at BB and get a raincheck from target. You can also try CC for PMs. However, they tend to verify stock more often than BB..also depends on the person. Some barely look at the ad you present

Happy Holidays MC!

I did not go through all 5 pages to see if this had been reported but Charmed is listed in the OP as the final season only but at my Target, Seasons 6-8 were all at the $19.99 price.

NICE! I'll try that tomorrow. In my defense, I was in a hurry as I was on a breakfast run so I had to run in and out.

Got Heroes S1 for $15.90 + Tax, 24 S5 for $16.99 + Tax after PM. Had a really hard time PM-ing Heroes though, had to insist on it at BB.

DirkBelig 12-27-07 01:36 AM

I went and got my price adjustments on Dead Like Me S2 and Heroes and learned that Beast Buy only matches the lower price - no 10% bonus - when it's THEIR AD, not a competitors. I'd never seen this before because I'm usually popping them with a Circuit City ad to match. So, I ended up just getting the usual $17.50 sale price for DLM, but DID get 110% of the $31 difference on Heroes. The clerk was saying that she was planning on getting it for $25, but now that she knew it was possible to get it for $19, she'd do that. Heh.

Will Target give rainchecks on Heroes? Has anyone had a problem if they tried to get one?

HistoryProf 12-27-07 04:28 AM

no rainchecks on any of these ultra discounted titles.

Mine had all S&C sets for 9.99 - but they were gone. LOTS of Heroes sets though...at least 30 still around at 8pm. I picked up Sarah Silverman S1 for 9.99 and the Terminator/Robocop double feature slimcases for 7.50 - nice little deal for both :)

Yes they will give rebates for Heroes Season 1 DVD. I got one last night because the Target in Abington, MA was sold out on the first day.

JB7 12-27-07 12:08 PM

Is this a YMMV thing or has Wal-Mart stopped price matching Target? I've never had a problem, but today I got denied.

SI78 12-27-07 12:50 PM

Were you denied by a manager? I've never had a problem price matching at WalMart. But I always make sure to find the youngest employee who seems the least happy to be there. It could be a Your Clerk May Vary situation.

Simpson Purist 12-27-07 01:42 PM

Picked up Heroes S1 and The Office S3 at Target during my break, had no problems obtaining them, they were well-stocked.

I stopped at a 24-hour WalMart on my way to work yesterday, because I knew I wouldn't be able to find a copy at Target by the time 4pm rolled around.

The register wouldn't allow the cashier to put in $19.00 as the price, and instead popped up a message requesting a manager. (Kinda scary when the register tells the cashier that it thinks you're trying to rip them off. ;))

She called a supervisor over and told her that the normal price was $44.99 (or whatever it was) and that the register wouldn't let her enter $19.00. The manager verified that it was the same show in the ad, the same season in the ad, and that the ad was current (checking the back). After commenting that it was a really good deal, she put her Key of Power into the register, turned it, keyed in some numbers, and voila! $20.39 with tax.

Apparently, that large of a discount triggers the manager request, and some managers don't want to give that much of a discount. (Considering that supposedly some DVDs have razor-thin margins, I can understand why a manager wouldn't want to sell a DVD at such a loss....)
