is this target ad for in store only or for online only or for both?

thanks in advance!

CTH 12-24-07 08:25 AM

I was at Target this morning and the shelves were stocked with Jackass 2.5, The Kingdom, Eastern Promises and The Heartbreak Kid

GuessWho 12-24-07 10:24 AM

Time for a price adjustment since I paid $39.99 for The Office last week

Target or Circuit City Price Matching??

With foreknowledge of sales, one could purchase at full price and then go back to PM because BB and CC offer 110% of the differences. Beast Buy sells Heroes for $49. If you buy it now, you'll be able to get $33 (plus the tax) back when you hit them with the Target ad. End price: $16 plus tax. Much win in that calculus.

Granted, you need to take the cost of getting to the stores once or twice into account. No point in burning half a tank of gas and burning up the savings. I've got a BB, CC and Target within sight of my office, so it's only a 1/4 mile to hit any of them repeatedly.

I'm glad someone caught my post because thanks to forums like this and awesome people like Speedy, whenever something I've been waiting for comes up here, I can go get it immediately and then save even more than if I price-matched. As I noted, it's easy and cost-effective for me because I work so close to these stores that I'm not burning my savings in gas.

I'm waiting for the 12/26 Target paper - it didn't come with the Sunday paper - but Heroes was $50 and Dead Like Me was $40 when I bought them last week at Beast Buy so it'll be $34.10 and $24.75 (plus tax) back, a pickup of $5.85 (plus tax) over a straight wait-and-PM.

Not wanting to be a spoilsport, I just thought I'd mention a (possible) caveat regarding buying an item early (say, Heroes for $50) and then price-matching to get the extra 110% back guarantee. Don't know if they still do this, but I remember trying to price-match a Target sale item once BB (just to save time & gas...didn't even know about the 110%)...the cashier sent me to the service desk, and they said they had to call Target to verify that the item was in-stock. Of course, Target was sold out, so they wouldn't do the price-match.

As I said, this may all be a moot point, but I'd hate for someone to pay big bucks for an item thinking they would pm and then get stuck with the item. Of course, I guess they could always just return the unopened item for a refund of the original purchase price.

Waiting to hear back on what the "selected other" titles for $19 are.....

cardaway 12-26-07 07:55 AM

What I'm most curious about is if their exclusive version is part of the sale. I have a receipt to dig out if so.

tesey20 12-26-07 08:08 AM

I went this morning. Picked up Heroes: Season 1, The Office: Season 3, & Sex and the City: Seasons 5, 6.1, & 6.2.

There are a lot of other things on sale. Basically almost all their TV DVD section is on sale.

What else was $19?

I'm hoping for 24 S6.

tesey20 12-26-07 08:14 AM

24: Season 6 was not on sale, unless it wasn't marked, every other season of 24 was $19.99 though. Mostly everything that's listed on the first page, plus their previous seasons are on sale (except for Boston Legal). They also have The Golden Girls, Full House, How I Met Your Mother on sale for $19.99. They also marked Rome at $39.99.

I didn't look at the movies at all though.

cmcbruins 12-26-07 08:26 AM

Is is safe to assume the stores will have plenty of Heroes DVDs'in stock when I get out of work today @ 4:00 PM. I will be going to the Target in Abington, MA. Even if they did sell out I believe a raincheck would be in order since the flyer says nothing about No Rainchecks for Heroes or the other DVDs' on the front page.

Zbu 12-26-07 08:48 AM

Just checked out the Ypsilanti Target and they had two different placements for Heroes for $19 exactly. I grabbed one, but I didn't see Dexter S1 at all. :(

Weird. Last year they had the newly released S5 for $25. Guess they didn't do it with S6.

Rendle 12-26-07 09:50 AM

Anyone find the exclusive version of Heroes or The Office?

Yeah, I was kinda hoping for that, too, again this year. My mind says NOOOOOOOOOOO! but my wallet says YESSSSS! :D

blued888 12-26-07 09:58 AM

24 S1 to S5 are all on sale? Because S5 is the only one in the weekly ad.

superdeluxe 12-26-07 10:05 AM

speedy are the knocked up/Die Hard dvd's 2 disc'ers or single disc?

Thanks!

superdeluxe 12-26-07 10:12 AM

OH and enjoy your time off Speedy! May you have the time to reflect and relax and recharge before coming back into the grind :)

Snowmaker 12-26-07 11:55 AM

Yeah, 24 S6 was $46.99 reg. price. The season sets I really wanted were like the only ones NOT on sale. (Scrubs S6, Robot Chicken S2).

I decided to pass on Heroes. Other than seeing the 73-minute unaired pilot, I really have no interest in rewatching the season.

Yes, they were all on sale. Most of the ones listed in the weekly ad have all their seasons on sale (except for most recent released).

Snowmaker 12-26-07 12:07 PM

One other thing I noticed, the ad shows South Park S10 for $19.99, but when I got there every season was just $19.

I hope they're the 2-Disc, then I'll finally pick them up! But I bet it's the single disc.

It is great that Target has Heroes for this price. But it can be dissapointing to find out it has sold out when you get there. I am not sure how many copies they keep.

However, considering the cost of gas, time, and effort to buy this at Target, you may want to buy it at www.amazon.com for $24.99 and avoid the risk of finding out it is sold out at Target. I am not sure about the raincheck thing, but it seems like a lot of trouble since it means another repeat trip to Target.
