POTC: Dead Man's Chest Best Buy Bonus Disc $0.01 (YMMV)

I went to BB today to pick up the bonus disc for AWE (wasn't in on Tuesday) and had them scan the bonus disc for the second movie to see what it came up as...1 cent. So if anyone hasn't gotten the bonus disc for DMC and your BB has it in stock you may only have to pay a penny for it.

Funny you bring this up. I was looking at the stack of them at my BB the other day, noted that they were all marked 9.99, and thought that a drop might be in order.

I think I'll head over and check today. Thanks!

The disc says 43 minutes worth of extras. When I went to BB on Tuesday, there was a price tag that said $4.99, which probably confused alot of customers, thus lots of them were passing on picking it up.

So this isn't on the 2 disc DMC. I may have to check this out.
Also, I noticed a Superbad disc for .1 cent. Any idea what's on it and if any of it's on the 2 disc set.

The Superbad disc has film clips, an on-set video diary, cop car confessions, a theatrical trailer for Superbad and previews for Walk Hard. It would appear that everything except the Walk Hard preview is on the 2 disc. The only catch may be if the diary and cop car confessions are the same footage or if it's additional stuff. I haven't watched the 2 disc yet to find out.

You mean the old disc that has the now expired movie ticket? Or is this something new?

Is the content on this disc any good?

I bought AWE (Blu Ray) at Frys but it's the same price at BestBuy with bonus disc. Not sure if it's worth making a trip to get (and return my other copy to Frys).

I was hoping to snag a Dead Man's Chest bonus disc for a penny. I'd seen them setting around for months. So of course today there were none to be had. (I did pick up four Surfer's though...one for me, one for a gift, two for T4T.)

Anyone pick up some spares; I'll pay for shipping?
Update: ordered online (Order Total:$1.59) thanks anyway...

Don't hate me for saying this, but are you sure you're checking the old DMC disc?

There is a new bonus disc, and that rings up as $4.99.

The old one is marked $9.99 most likely, but rings up a penny, and is a penny on the web site.

Historically, BB price drops like this are nationwide.

Also, you all know to always ignore price tags (and often price checks, but that's another story) right?

4 days ago, my local stores had several hundred of these stacked all over the place, perhaps 1,000 to be honest.

Then 3 days ago they removed them all and the website has them at a penny.

I was able to get a kind employee to grab a few out of the back for me.

Trevor:

Thanks for the online heads-up.
Unfortunately, I just checked the site and they're now sold out.

The best part is when I check for store availability it says the very store I was in today has them....

Mine says it has the bonus disc as well. Guess I'll have to stop over there...

It seems like a lot of stores have moved them into the warehouse. So you may get lucky if you politely ask an employee to look in the back for you.

Found one in the AWE stand right in front of the other exclusive discs (for POTC3). Rang up at a penny. Thanks OP

Wonder how long until the POTC3 exclusive discs get down to a cent...

Hmmm...I am confused. I saw the DMC bonus disc in store but passed since I already have multiples of it.

I DID purchase 4 of the AWE bonus discs for .01 each - they rang up that way....are they not supposed to be pennied out yet?

Funny, I always thought this thread was about AWE ringing up for a penny. I never realized it was supposed to be about DMC. Well, I got an AWE disc today for a penny, so I'm happy. It rang up that way, and did not have a price sticker on it...

Damn. Guess I'll have to go back... again, lol.

Edit: BTW, I looked online and the DMC bonus disc is back in stock. I didn't see the AWE one, though. Anyone have a link to it?
